One thing people in the US forget about is the seasonality of food and things like different growing zones.

CW: past domestic abuse of a friend with permission to share. I have a friend, she left a DV situation when her kid was young. Spent from divorce to the kid turning 18 dealing with the ex bringing her to court for years at a time. Stupid reasons but it’s how the system works.

There is a competitor that keeps checking out my LinkedIn profile and I just want to smile in their general direction and say, you raised way more than I’ll be able to. You’re good. I appreciate the nod though.

Also everyone talking about cognitive load

As I’ve been researching competitors and I think I’m letting my own bias get in the way. My assumption is Ops teams don’t want AI to automatically update versions during CI/CD because it’s not as simple as doing one version bump. This isn’t my understanding of the problem around shifting left

Someone told me they didn’t want me doing demo videos for work because I have a baby voice. The way that has stuck in my craw! Oof. But here I am rolling out short videos. I find it frustrating that I let some critiques fester and others I don’t think twice about.

My friend is planning to move to Sweden, she’s going to need help so I thought, I’ll find a sweet Swedish tv show. Are there sweet Swedish tv shows or movies?

I’m going to stream North of North in a continuous loop for the foreseeable future.

BREAKING. From a reliable source. MITRE support for the CVE program is due to expire tomorrow. The attached letter was sent out to CVE Board Members.

I changed my name 10 years ago. I kept my ex’s last name until my kid was old enough to explain who I was and that I wasn’t kidnapping him. Apparently, a bank I haven’t used in 15 years still has me on file so I need to prove my name change with appropriate legal documents and two pieces of ID. Sigh

My friend and I were talking about the long tail of trauma. There is this small window where it’s acceptable to be sad & process. After that the trauma is in the past from a socially acceptable perspective. So you stop sharing. Instead, we decided to make it ok to be sad with a friend. 💜

In the event of the apocalypse, the Walgreens near me is NOT where you should go to stock up on medication.

In preparation for the current chaos, I got serious about gardening last year. My neighbors and I have set up trade and sharing. This year I need to learn how to can. Anyone have book recommendations on canning fruits and veg?

I was a social security recipient from the age of 12 through 18. That’s not some weird thing or corruption. It’s called survivors’ benefits. You don’t have to know this. You’re blessed if you don’t. But if you’re going to speak publicly abt the program you need to know this.

Rep. Steven Horsford to Greer: "So the trade representative hasn't spoken to the POTUS about a global reordering of trade, but yet he announced it on a tweet? WTF! Who is in charge? It looks like your boss just pulled the rug out from under you. There is no strategy ... is this market manipulation?"

My friend and I were talking about the march today. She’s attending, I am not. I have not laughed so hard in ages. Having someone act out how I respond to a perceived threat. Tears! Having friends from high school is so humbling. You have people reflect how you changed and how you haven’t.

From the age of 16 I would take my grandma grocery shopping each week. It used to stress me out that she would go down every single aisle & comment on the products. I just channeled my grandma & went down every aisle. I still don’t get why she did it aside from peopling and the Great Depression.

Do I know any folks who work at HashiCorp who would be willing to share what their time working there has been like?

It’s going to be interesting to see what the drop off of Computer Science degrees looks like in the coming years. Why would anyone want to work in a field that is messaging it doesn’t need people anymore?

I was watching part of a cybersecurity discussion this morning. You know switching up government streams between Cory Booker. One comment was something like, we don’t do anything until after an outage. There were chuckles all around.

When my kid was little, he used to collect fallen camellias, put them in his pocket and give them to me at pickup. I loved everything about it.

I’ve been reading historical fiction books recently. Im just wrapping up Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. The story of the two sisters and their approach to occupied France is really well done. I’m hoping to find a good code talkers story. Fiction or nonfiction.

Startup life is wild. The switch between feeling like we’ve got this and why try is intense.

There is a whole GenZ level of mockery around jobs in tech. The theme CS degrees or people who hold Dev jobs = poverty. Or it’s just my kid finding this niche of content. Either way, I find it fascinating.

Vibe coding. That’s a thing? I have thoughts.

A review of my pitch deck came back with feedback that my Halt and Catch Fire picture on my origin story slide was distracting and irrelevant. That’s a bit of a bummer.

I’ve been clearing more space to garden. My city strip has strawberries which are mostly for public consumption. I’ve added a section for radishes, beets and broccoli. I’m thinking of adding signs on how and when to harvest. Part prevention part education

Also, I acknowledge the world is burning, so humor and my kind of humor might not be hitting its mark.

My recent blog post titles reference REM, Star Wars, and Hackers. I have a title that references unbearable weight of massive talent and One Punch Man. And honestly, I’m disappointed they don’t get a chuckle.

I feel like we are headed into a food scarcity era. Or I just worry about whether I’ll have enough food. Hard to say. So I’ve been doing all the garden prep this spring. Who knew nasturtiums were so awesome?!?!? And great in salads.
