While attending the rally, I got ticketed parking in that 1041 Gervais lot despite paying at the kiosk. Feels like a minor form of intimidation.

...THERE'S A $70 TICKET ON MY CAR!!! And I have my parking receipt. At best, this feels like an exploitative attempt by the City of Columbia to fill their coffers. At worst, they're trying to curtail on people's rights of assembly and free speech. Disappointed and outraged at my hometown!

UPDATE: I GOT TICKETED DESPITE PAYING THE PARKING FEE! When I noticed that pissant kid taking pictures of everyone's license plates, I hung around my car and he skittered away. When I went to pay, he came back--I should have called him out then. That's my bad. When I return from the rally...
