You’re not understanding. With this tool, I can become the artist. MS Paint didn’t remove the medium of painting. This can be a tool for creation.

Then it is not my art. I just own something I described and put to creation through the eyes and thoughts of another. AI is an empowering tool. It’s how it is used that matters.

Art is important to society and provides tremendous value. AI helping create it doesn’t lower its value. If anything it gives voice to the previous voiceless artist. It may result however in significantly more “bad” art, if there is such a thing.

As someone with few artistic talents I am able to use AI to help share my imagination. It’s not perfect, but so many artists are gatekeeping because they fear their livelihoods and wellbeing. The emotion is real. The root though is societal structure.

Its authenticity, community, and a flash in the pan of newness. MySpace-Facebook-digg-vine-reddit-TikTok. It’s where current/alive things happen in communities you can adopt as your own. There has to be a critical mass of content generation to really take off.
