I wanted to say that this could be a manifestation of how he thinks car culture enforces divisions among socioeconomic classes, etc., etc.,... ...but let's face it, he's not that deep. He just wants to rage against anything that mildly inconveniences him.

Point taken; it’s possible (maybe even likely) that the election was rigged to capture swing states. Still, that change that white voters voted in the majority for him. They’ve voted for the Republican candidate in the majority since LBJ (around the time of the civil rights movement).
