I would also disagree that it’s because of the success of the Eras Tour— Midnights broke records before the Eras Tour was even announced. I think it’s more to do with the fact that it’s obvious she’s favored by the academy, and they wanted her to break the record for most AOTY

I’d disagree that Midnights is one of her weakest albums, BUT was shocked and a bit disappointed when SOS didn’t win.
