Without saying your age, who was your first animated crush?

Watched the season finale of DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN. New York City could be a metaphor for our country, and Mayor Fisk a representation of you-know-who. Powerful closing message about strength in numbers and the power of resistance at any and all levels--a recent example being Harvard.

Discouraging, but probably true.

Steve Kerr wore a Harvard basketball shirt after the Warriors’ win tonight: “Yes, this is me supporting Harvard. Way to go. Way to stand up to the bully.”

Lawyers for Harvard University said the school will not comply with a new list of demands sent by the Trump administration on Friday.

BLACK MIRROR season 7, episode 5, "eulogy." wiped me out. Paul Giamatti: Wow. The show at its absolute best.

…Qualifying him for a position in the Trump administration.

Thanks, @esraye.bsky.social ! You were a pleasure to work with—

"Expected more from him"?

R.I.P. Val Kilmer, whose portrayal as Chris Knight in REAL GENIUS was an inspiration, providing me with a quote I still somehow manage to use regularly:

Book recommendation: A really fun read for fans of the 1980 comedy film, AIRPLANE!. Written by the filmmakers, it chronicles their journey toward making the film, as well as their adventures making the movie.

Honored and humbled to be included in this publication. Thanks, @perseidprophecies.bsky.social !

Something to think about

A quote from season 1 of ANDOR that seems especially relevant in the context of recent events: "The pace of oppression outstrips our ability to understand it, and that is the real trick of the Imperial thought machine. It's easier to hide behind forty atrocities than a single incident."

Amen. Trump has broken every norm. It is time for the good guys to break some norms and speak out. This is an emergency for the office they held and the nation they led. What will it take for a former president to speak out against Trump? www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

She’s 100% correct.

That’s how you write a headline, people.

We need Pete Buttigieg as a clear messenger, more than ever.

Too bad He wasn't more sparing with that particular ingredient.

do you have any idea just how badly you have to fuck up to get Canada mad at you

Just finished this book, and I can’t recommend it enough. Just don’t expect a magical instant remedy for the hopelessness many of us are feeling about the current state of the U.S. and the world, in general…

No cheating. Your last saved celebrity pic is now your therapist.

Someone dropped this in my post the other day and even if you’re not religious it works!

JFC... What a fucking shit-show. chicago.suntimes.com/politics/don...

Calvin was decades ahead of his time.

Looks like I finally made it into the Hollywood inner circle! Curious that she hasn't posted anything yet, though... No matter, I'm sure this is legit.

Learned a new term today from the book I’m reading: “conflict entrepreneur”, someone who inflames social division for their own ends. Basically Fox News, Newsmax, OAN, and a significant percentage of social media.

From HOPE FOR CYNICS by Jamil Zaki: “As people interact less across political lines, we lose real-world knowledge about rivals. That doesn’t mean we stop thinking about them. The information vacuum fills with media and our imagination…”
