Yeah. Also, their tech demo being a paid thing is a such a ridiculous move

I feel ya, I've been working out since January and it did me tons of good mentally-wise! The only thing, I hurt my back two weeks ago, so I had to stop going for obvious reasons. I did my first post-accident session today, I really missed the workout-induced dopamine!

Gotta keep milking those precious, precious franchises!
Also, I’ve noticed in certains kids that they won’t watch animated movies, or at least aren’t as interested in them, if they’ve offered the choice between animated or 3D/live action. Not sure if this is widespread, though. That makes me sad!

Table setups have gotten super intricate, sometimes you encounter artists with a well-thought and uniform table layout, next thing you know it's their 2nd or 3rd con ever.
In the meantime I'm just here with my 16 years tabling and still using coroplast displays and grids like it's still 2016, haha

I've read this on an artist alley group I'm a member of. I'm in Canada so this doesn't affect us for the moment, but my thoughts go to y'all artist friends from the US waiting for stuff from their Chinese manus.

That's it! In 2025 I'm hoping to bring forward more personal projects, such as releasing the Mario romhack I'm working on, and new comic projects as well. How feasible that is combined with my current activities, I still have to figure out!
Hope to be able to say "it's about time" again in 2025!

But this year, I started streaming DJ sets on Twitch. It's been fun to play the music I like to new fans, but also to rekindle friendships with old acquaintances from the old days. DJing on Twitch is reminding me of why I started doing it in the first place. Maybe I'll start producing again in 2025!

7. I joined Twitch... as a DJ
Those who know me are probably aware that I am a DJ and music producer. I moonlight as a mobile DJ, although I have to say I enjoy it less and less because of the shift in musical trends. I had already stopped producing new music sometime in the previous decade.

This is heartbreaking in a way, because I had my best following on Twitter. But my growth on the platform had come to a halt for some time, so I felt the timing was right to leave. Goodbye Twitter, you will be missed for the good old days.

6. I'm leaving Twitter.
The shift in tone, the removal of essential features, the antagonizing of artists and the prevalence of AI, all enabled by the sheer recklessness of the Supreme Tech Bro (you know who I'm talking about), made me wanna move on.

It's been officially announced in August of this year, and I've been involved as a level designer, even more so this year since I attended less conventions. It's a destabilizing, drastic change of environment for me, but it feels good to be involved on such a big project with such a talented team!

5. I'm working on an actual game!
Since February 2022, I've been an employee at Woodrunner Games, an indie video game studio in Montréal working on their first game, called "Croak". It's a 2D platformer, a bit à la Mario, Celeste, Cuphead, and others.

I was lucky to be able to attend the event as a commentator. The run was watched, live and on the Internet, by tens of thousands of people. Meeting the community and being involved in such an event was pretty impactful to me. I hope to do it again one day, maybe with another romhack! But for now...

4. My Mario game was played in front of thousands of people
Three years ago, I made "Luminescent", a Super Mario World romhack. @glitchcat7.bsky.social submitted it to be ran at "Awesome Games Done Quick", the biggest video-game charity of the world, which was held in Pittsburgh, in the US.
