You really don't have to stick up for the elite newspapers who didn't do shit for alt weeklies or smaller websites that went oob. There is a better way to do the news

If I just got back from the weekend at the beach I would have no idea protests happened but I would see a link to Trump's parade halfway down nyt.com. Dunno what to tell you

well also, when she gave them something to vote for by saying what she'd do if you voted for her, people lied and said she wouldn't do them

Right see my follow up tweet. Maybe it's less important than the complainers think but so what?

A lot of people defend the NYT etc by saying well they're not as as they used to be which maybe but so? Elections are very close. Very few people actually defend the bothsidesing and lying headlines. Why not get it right

If you see something crazy on tiktok and then you go to the newspapers of record to try to dig a little deeper and they don't make it crystal clear that your original source was lying well there you have it

Perhaps Chris meant it's striking that things seem to be escalating and Padilla is not backing down or anything but it takes a lot of cynicism or online brain rot to think that a whole lot of them aren't legit pissed off

Ok but many electeds have been at protests for a while but the media ignored it in favor of the online narrative that they were feckless because they didn't have a stop Trump button.

It is possible that we may need to build coalitions with people who are decidedly not fascists but this is impossible for posters to comprehend for the last twenty plus years

Sure. Same idea. If we win we can fix the economy they're breaking.

As I've said before the american prospect isn't really acting like we are in the absolute crisis we are in. No change to their front page formatting to sound alarm, same general wonky pieces looking at bills, same trashing of both sides for things they don't like.
comment in response to post
If some Dems are voting for this bill and you don't like it maybe you should advocate why and get them to listen to you and trust you instead of shitting on them
comment in response to post
I don't know the details of the bill but if we win we can prosecute most of them for most of the bad stuff whether or not crypto had something to do with it and if we lose we can't.

They really do not hold these truths to be self-evident.

They are confident the media will portray everything in the most favorable manner to them, and they have been mostly right for fifty years

i think people do want congress to do its job better, polls show this pretty consistently. 48-50% or so of congress in the last 6 years have been interested in doing that, but you need >50%
