I was helping a historian friend of mine research and give him suggestions on potential archaeology. I thought it was for his blog, nope, it's a book and to say I am excited is an understatement and I can't reveal who, but I will say a new book on 1690s pirates is inbound!!!!! 1/2

Zelensky is an excellent negotiator, but he's literally dealing with his people dying as a result of Trump's allies. #1 He cannot even pretend to be weak. #2 He shouldn't have to pad the ego of a school yard narcissist. I don't care for how you and the media are normalizing this.

My wife has been away from politics for years...I think she thought I was going crazy... (Keep in mind she has a stroke disorder and tries to avoid stress.) Well, she just encountered what's been happening... Oh boy...

Giles Corey reminded me, I forget if I ever posted this one here, this is a brief overview of the criminal justice system in my area of study. (17th-early 18th Centuries) youtu.be/vOXXOWgiF3I?...

I spy a Giles Corey reference! For those who don't know- The land issue in Salem was huge and to stop his property from being taken from his heirs, Giles Corey refused to plea. You needed a plea (guilty or not guilty) to convict and to get the plea "pressing" was the order of the day. 😞

in the trump administration, “merit” is pronounced “white” like how strom thrumond said it.

One of my favorite military comedians (as in he's still in) just crossed the line (habitually...haha) and I am 100% here for it. Give him some love he just lost a bunch of his followers for it. youtu.be/YJp-8vEso1I?...

Neurotypical folks... Please don't explain autism to people on the spectrum. We get it. It's rather infuriating that you don't and still want to other us. Further, if somebody on the spectrum makes a joke about being on the spectrum, let us have it. We are dealing with it in our own ways.

Had a meeting today. My son is doing great and he's noted as being not just a leader in his class, but very respectful of other cultures. It also sounds like my son's school is pretty much ignoring the Loompaland reject.

I don't think these people are even aware of what the Humanities are.

Archaeology fighting Nazis.... ❤️ @miniminuteman.bsky.social youtube.com/shorts/ZYKRY...

That saw is a TMC Tools MT-598. Its an Argentinian brand that are cheaply made in China. The symbol of destroying America's civic infastructure is a meme crafted by the President of Argentina as a gift for the (publicly) richest person alive. CPAC was in DC. STIHL has a factory in Virginia Beach.

New video from Gold and Gunpowder. youtu.be/dj8ntWjd7SI?...

With news floating around about a plan to move USPS into the Commerce Department, we seem to have found my lane. So let’s talk about the #PostOffice. /1

Thanks @adamconover.net , now I feel like a dang early medieval warrior compared to these people as I let my daughter do my hair... If they were 13, going through stuff, I could get it, but they are grown *** men. youtu.be/ol4X6oc-tz8?...

@usedgov.bsky.social is really getting under my skin with their optimistic Fascism.

In February of 1764, Benjamin Franklin raised and led six companies of infantry, one of artillery, and two of cavalry, INCLUDING QUAKERS, confronting the Paxton Boys who had committed the Conestoga Massacre and were planning to murder more Native Americans. He dispersed them on February 7th. 1/

Benjamin Franklin was apprenticed to his brother James Franklin, a printer, who in 1721 started the The New-England Courant. James was very anti-religion to the point his overzealous approach caused him to publish the first anti-vax conspiracy in America. Cotton Mather supported...1/2

A young Benjamin Franklin tried his hand at writing ballads which he would later call "wretched stuff." In 1719 he wrote one about Blackbeard and the downfall of Piracy. founders.archives.gov/documents/Fr... Without the career change we probably wouldn't have the USPS. #piratehistory #usps

Alexander Spotswood, the man who appointed Benjamin Franklin as the Philadelphia Postmaster in 1737... In 1718, as Virginia's Governor ordered the, arguably illegal, capture (which became death) of Blackbeard. 1730-1739 he was Deputy Postmaster General of North America, when he appointed Franklin.

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) was established by Benjamin Franklin in 1775 when the Second Continental Congress appointed him as the first Postmaster General.

Hey, look, the founder of Pennsylvania.
