Honestly, them splitting custody of MAGA and Elon taking the die-hards might be good for all of us. Partly because he's gone more hardcore, it just seems anecdotally like fewer people are loyal to Musk in the way that they've been loyal to Trump's cult of personality Might break the grip they have

Psh, get that "sorry" outa here that's hillarious 😂 fr though that's super interesting and now I'm going to do more research because my circulation always used to be bad so now I need to know how it's gonna change when I go full lizard

So like... my wife has _always_ showered in way hotter water than me, it felt like it would melt my skin off and I definitely heard that other places as a gender-stereotype. Since I started HRT I've noticed I turn the shower hotter than I used to. I'm honestly genuinely curious now why that is.

Because of the girth?

It's chilly in the winter so maybe aim summer, but any sane Canadian would be happy for the visit 😂

It's kind of funny. He actually does a remarkable job campaigning for the Liberals. Cause anyone who would vote CPC because of this post specifically was already voting for them anyway, so the only people he's motivating are the ones who read this and hate every word.

But to be clear, I'm not demanding you be okay with the price. I'm suggesting your job as a consumer is to decide if the value works for _you_ and buy accordingly, like we all do. I'm only pointing out that $80 isn't actually a price increase. It's roughly equivalent to what games typically cost.

It's not a theory, Ocarina of Time released at $60 in 1995 which adjusts to $120 and was considerably simpler (and cost considerably less) to make. Using price-reduced post-release games as a comparison point doesn't hold up either. That's comparing apples to oranges.

Games N64 and earlier were $140 adjusted for inflation. Switch games at system-launch cost $80 when adjusted for inflation A brand new Series X/PS5 costs more than a Switch 2 and they aren't portable If the value doesn't line up for you just don't buy it yet. Demanding outrage feels like a stretch

I wonder if there's a market for satire in the form of headlines that are so __positive__ that they're absurd? Like imagine a satire headline along the lines of "Trump realizes his entire cabinet is unqualified, theorizes posting on Monster might get better candidates".
comment in response to post
Yeah I think they're gonna have to work on their satire a touch - fully believable headlines make poor satire. Then again, that's like asking them to just close shop for a few years, so I guess we'll have to settle for "slightly absurd, but believable" in our satire for a while.

"We're doing steam punk" was exactly as much teaser as I need, I'm completely sold 😂 see you in the clouds!

Honestly, not a joke. What exactly stops El Salvador from simply choosing to permanently jail them? If the Executive's position is that they have no constitutional obligation to citizens abroad, then all Americans should be extremely careful where they travel - especially the political opposition.

To be super clear, no part of me believes what they're planning will be fair or compassionate. Worse, by simply not mentioning it at all the _reasonable_ assumption is a lack of work requirements but they haven't earned that benefit of the doubt. Frankly, we should demand details.

I agree with your thread overall, but this specific item is a bit off. They said they support work requirements for able bodied adults without children. The implied inverse is that if you have kids then there won't be a work requirement, not that you'll get no coverage at all.

Bah, messed up the Wii U price when I changed which games I based the list on (the major Zelda from every gen). It was $83 in 2025 dollars.

It doesn't seem steep at all. NES - '85 $50 = '25 $149 SNES - '91 $50 = '25 $140 N64 - '97 $60 = '25 $120 GCN - '03 $50 = '25 $87 Wii - '06 $50 = '25 $80 WiiU - '12 $60 = '25 $70 Switch - '17 $60 = '25 $78 Games have gotten cheaper and way more complex, $80 is perfectly reasonable.

I like that, sounds like you're taking it in a really fun direction. Shape memory also sounds like a really interesting idea, like maybe the crafting process involves slowly molding it into a variety of weapon-shapes and "locking" them each to runes on the hilt so it can retake forms quickly?

This. The public discourse calls Signal unsecure but it's not. The network itself is. A journalist wouldn't even have access to the secured network they were supposed to use. If you leave a bank-grade vault in the street and hand someone the combination on a post-it, was the vault itself to blame?

I think you could also structure it as a self-repairing weapon, but as a warrior is a self-repairing sword that takes decades to craft (and is priced accordingly) really a better option than just replacing or repairing my own weapon as it takes on wear?
