Heavenly path to a new Cape Cod day. #Truro

A Lovely Day linocut Had done this print in the past, but switched up the composition and details a bit for a new version. Lino cuts are fairly new to me, but enjoying the process and learning every day. #guinness #slainte #linocut #blockprint #frommainewithlove

Such a range of weather today on what could be one of the last ice fishing trips of winter. Beautiful way to spend a day. Sailsbury, CT

How about this? The feeling when you have the whole lake on your use for ice fishing.

Gritty comeback win by the Huskies! Here’s to hoping Hurley is right about this lighting a fire… #UConn

Thankful that it’s been cold enough to freeze Connecticut’s deepest lakes, which means #icefishing for large, holdover trout is possible for first time in a few winters. Here’s a short video from a couple weeks ago. Hoping to get out again soon!

Admittedly a large find for #FindsFriday The Carpow Logboat recovered from the River Tay near Perth 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 in 2001 is Late Bronze Age in date (c 1000BC, radiocarbon date). Made from a huge oak, it was quite sophisticated with a transom. You can see it in the Perth Museum along with the Stone of Destiny

7:15 p.m. in Connecticut and I just got an email that school is closed tomorrow. Kids these days will never know the suspense of listening to the radio and/or waiting for the TV scroll in alphabetical order to find out if school is off and reveal their fates. Selection Sunday-level anticipation.

A great read or listen about eating our way out of New England’s invasive crab dilemma.

Not a bad way to spend a cold day outside! #icefishing

Thrilling night of hockey in New Haven… Albertus Magnus College takes down Hobart, the #1 ranked & two-time defending DIII national champs. Proud of these guys!

I am still mourning Tom Petty. But that John Mayer rendition of ‘Free Falling’ kicked so much ass that Tom would have been proud. #FireAid

Made my first ice fishing cover! Cool release shot of my biggest northern pike ever going back into Connecticut’s largest natural lake. #icefishing #northernpike #connecticut

A #Neolithic rock crystal arrowhead found in the pile-dwelling settlement of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, dating from around 3500 BC. The raw material was not available in the immediate area, but came from the Alps. Rock crystal has been mined in the Swiss Alps since the early Mesolithic. 🧵1/3 🏺
