From today's US Soccer Board of Directors Public Session, Adult Council Representative Fritz Marth spoke on the USASA national cup programs. Specifically, he mentioned seeing if they can "open that up to more of the adult space". In English, UPSL may be returning to the National Amateur Cup.

Bill Hamid featured for Virginia Dream FC during 2025 US Open Cup qualifying last fall. In previous years, that would make him cup-tied and unable to play for The Miami FC in #USOC2025. However, a rule change from last year allows amateur players to sign for professional teams and not be cup-tied.
