My alma mater and hometown as well. Sad because the university does bring a beautiful diversity to an otherwise lily-white area, yet can't seem to stop stepping on their own toes to appease loud bigots.

Instead of "don't cut our funding," our message should be: hands off higher ed.

Trans rights are human rights. Human rights are non-negotiable. The fundamental dignity of every human is not an open question. There's no "yeah, but.." There's no "middle ground." If one of us isn't free, then none of us are free. Full fuckin stop.

Some of our deans and admin leadership openly mocked the Deloitte and Huron consulting reports before they were released. They played a game where they guessed the bullet points and got every one correct.
