Also, Canada has universal healthcare, which means it's less of a bargaining point for actors in their contracts. They can get higher wages (though remember, the Canadian dollar is lower than USD) because they don't have to trade it for health benefits (and universal dental getting added soon).

I used to be a travel agent. I lived in hold. I remember once I spend three hours on hold (for an airline notorious for long hold times), finally got through and while I was giving them my number, the call got cut off, so I had to wait on hold another three hours to talk to someone again.

As someone getting in to voice acting recently (and late in life), this is the thing I'm noticing the most. Not only is it a very crowded market, but the entry-level little indie jobs that could be a foot in the door to get your voice out on the market are being done by "good enough" AI.
