That might be the case in the US, but in the UK, I have never driven on a road that was unsafe IF THE DRIVER WAS DRIVING TO THE ROAD CONDITIONS. You just slow to an appropriate braking speed, concentrate, and pay attention to your surroundings.

Very, very dark scenes in Ballymena. Old friend in Belfast sent me this photo today. When before have we seen the ‘others’ with special markings on their doors?

A beautiful place on a beautiful day....only somewhat marred by having to clear up human shite and toilet roll from four separate locations in this small woodland. #rangerdailydiary

...and trying to flog a copy of the Madonna with the Big Boobies, by Van Klomp.

My opinion, obvs, but if you cut the words 'I saw' (or replaced them with something better), and swapped the first 'time' for 'game', that wouldn't be too bad.

Peter Krykant kept the lives being lost to drugs in the public eye & shamed the Scottish gov into action. His van prevented overdoses & and continues to so as, without it, The Thistle wouldn’t exist. It was a privilege to know him. I hope he’s at peace. www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/peter-k...

Desperately sad to learn of the death of Peter Krykant, an indomitable campaigner who brought Scotland's drugs deaths crisis into the light and kept it there, and without whom The Thistle, the UK's first legal drugs consumption room, would not exist www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Art is necessary

Alina Bohdan fled war in Ukraine. She has young children and is suffering from cancer. Last night she was huddled in fear reading the Bible to them as a baying racist mob swept down the street, seeking whom they might devour. What sickening insanity.

LOOK UP TONIGHT - theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2025/06/look... @astroroyalscot.bsky.social wrote a wee thing & I threw in some images from last night's moonrise - it's doing it again tonight folks so get out for a neb at the sky later

This could be a lot of things.

Lucky the Beach Boys is all I'm saying. Not to get plagiarised by Noel's shonky wayback machine.

Imagine how sad the world will feel when Stevie Wonder eventually dies (I don't think he's immortal). Wilson and Stone are just a taster for that. And the worst of all: McCartney.

I only know what I'd do without Brian Wilson.

"It is as much a matter of course to decry the New Town as to exalt the Old; and the most celebrated authorities have picked out this quarter as the very emblem of what is condemnable in architecture." - Robert Louis Stevenson, Picturesque Notes #photography

Manchester City, charged with breaking Premier League financial and other rules for about a decade, have managed to commit more than 300 million pounds on new players since January. While the club denies the allegations, this thing has been hanging around now for seven years. Not a good look.

This castle is what all the cool kids visit.

The Architects' Journal has been radicalised and I'm - to quote the kids - here for it.

Brian Wilson has died. I painted him as the moon once

You love to see a 'bowled'. It's the best wicket to take.

Still wondering about that preposterous 25 May Telegraph story about “investment bankers” Al and Alexandra Moy and their children Ali, Harry and Barry? @privateeyenews.bsky.social has more! ”We earn £345k but soaring private school fees mean we can't go on five holidays”

Eventually the UK will end up being some sort of member of the EU, but without the veto and other powers we gave up in an inexplicable act of self-sabotage. Well done Britain. And fuck David Cameron, once more, because he caused all of this when he didn't even want it to happen.

Called it. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Probably have already. More than once.

As a driver and a cyclist, 100% this.

if a smurf gets sunburned do you think it turns red or purple

It's #StrawberryMoon day! And before you scoff "but the full moon happens every month Catherine", this is the once-every-18.6-yr lunar standstill. In the Northern hemisphere the moon will rise just above the horizon (look S) before it dips back down again 1/🧵🧪🔭 ⏰ www.timeanddate.com/moon/uk/edin...

Now you've all seen how these tech companies operate - they steal from you, even if it's *only* data about you, and they work with authoritarian regimes such as the US govt - why would you continue to welcome their devices into your homes AND pay for the privilege?

You're a lovely bunch - on the whole - and understand the tedious and un-British need to constantly promote or sink without trace. So if you have friends that are interested in writers, or write themselves, please let them know about the podcast & suggest they subscribe. Please, thank you & sorry 🙏🏼

More Beatles drawings if people like them?

Not sure why Bear Grylls was having lunch at a Mayfair restaurant with Nigel Farage and Reform moneyman Nick Candy. Maybe they’re trying to persuade the TV presenter to run for Parliament.

It's a bit of an astonishing window into real estate finance that the largest return on investment for a site at the edge of the New Town is huge amounts of PBSA rather than residential owner occupation
