Not Civ 7 yet, IMO. Wait until they work out the bugs.

Guy hits that age with plenty of sass and a full head of hair, it's an achievement. I wish him the best. And when you have the time, give him all the hugs. 💯😁

I'll get on this when it comes back. (Can't have "evil" in the handle and not sign up for villain workshops.)

Milestone moment. Rest when you can, but keep moving forward. Cheering you on, colleague. 👍

I don't understand the dislike on the internet. This is Marvel making a decent omelet with the eggs it broke in other films & shows, plus the good stuff they served us. Could it have been better? Sure. But you could say that about every movie.
I'll need to watch it again & just sit with it.

Not really. I could use an actual baritone or a more feminine-sounding contralto. But I’ll settle for a bowl of phô. 😄

The defense against our common myopia is to read more, to make our libraries bigger, to include more books.

Addendum: The danger of grafting your life to a narrative is that the story only reflects aspects of reality. It's a poor substitute for reality itself, regardless of the quality of your literature. But we do this all the damn time because we need meaning that much.

If you want a fitting allegory to Thiel's efforts to en-lich himself, look to the Kings of Numenor when Sauron was whispering in their ears.

The reward of a moral life for Humans on Middle-Earth is the prospect of a better life in a better place outside of it. This is the point that Thiel keeps missing in his attempts to extend his life on Earth indefinitely. /4

While Elves aren't subject to old age and sickness, the catch is they can still be slain. And when they go that way, that's it (with caveats, but this is an already overlong TLDR).
Elves don't have our Hope. 3/

Tolkien isn't big on allegory, but there was enough of his theology that bled into his writing. Elves & Humans have a share in God's creative ability (as artists & craftsmen). Elves have more, and can therefore *sub-create* more, as long as the Earth endures (technically forever). 2/

Laplace & Lagrange's collaborative model was more complete, left no gaps where supernatural intercession was required to explain orbital stability.
Laplace's comment was less metaphysical than it might seem. He was describing the COMPLETENESS of his theorem relative to others that came before it.

Go to bed, June.😆 Or if you must, finish this one and THEN go to sleep. You don't want to push yourself too hard, trust me.
