Yes. It’s not only “you can’t run the government like a business” but also “businesses shouldn’t get to treat people like widgets either wtf”

Around a dozen current & former federal workers are behind a new website created outlet to share anonymous stories and technical expertise about #DOGE dismantling of government agencies. “We the Builders” aims to be a secure outlet for #government workers to share how their workplaces are being […]

Pro tip: when you see a restaurant that looks good, bookmark it Google maps. Then when you’re out running errands and desperate for food you can just look around in the map and find a nearby pre-vetted spot.

Absolutely dying at this

So the ABA is a loose confederation of sections that are formed around practice areas. The Rule of Law statement came from HQ and was likely vetted by ABA president, board of governors, and maybe House of and represents entirety. This is a majority vote of a 20 person board from Legal Ed section.

Unlawfully and disgracefully.

I truly think people don’t realize how many universities and colleges — especially public ones — may shut down if restrictions on and withholding of federal funding persists for even one presidency We are facing the demolition of American higher education

This attack on maternal and infant health makes me wild. Pregnancy, birthing, and labour are all dangerous. People routinely died before modern medicine and they are maimed or die still. We are undoing hard fought, lifesaving work and now you have to hear about my uterus in punishment: a 🧵.

Grateful for this

New: DOGE's spending has been secret. No longer. My colleagues have uncovered it. www.propublica.org/article/doge...

I'm really excited about the new Murderbot series, but I cannot be the only one who always pictured the purposely non-gendered robot as a woman? It's just gonna be jarring to watch, that's all.

This is an exciting new partnership. @lawfare.bsky.social is keeping a Trump Litigation tracker on their site and is curating a bot here on Bluesky that follows all the important cases. Follow @trumplitigation.bots.law to stay up to date!

Down with the legal research duopoly! But not like this. Seriously, this is the dumbest timeline.

👍 AI mirage 👎 AI hallucination So many have objected to "hallucination" as a description of faulty AI outputs. We need a term that doesn't suggest conscious delusion. @xolotl.org and I analyzed 80+ alternatives and settled on "mirage." We make the case here: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

I escaped poverty because I am a scientist. And I am a scientist because of the National Science Foundation. A 🧵:

A fed govt website disappeared/gives a 504 error in the 30 minutes since I sent the email detailing where to find the information. Do I start screenshotting all websites now? (I’ve check the govwayback but this is a .mil site).

Most people in the US have no idea about the attacks on federally funded science or our government institutions. Many (or most!) of your family, coworkers, neighbors, and friends have no idea. My own MAGA dad thinks DOGE is just identifying waste, and that nothing has been cut. We have to tell them.

New: Last night, hundreds of CDC post-doc fellows were fired, including all in the group who call themselves the "disease detectors," and are the future of public health lab leaders. One senior official told me, "It is going to cripple public health for decades." www.nbcnews.com/politics/dog...

Does anyone else feel like you’re in the montage at the beginning of a disaster movie?

Yesterday many thousands of federal employees were terminated. This is a Reddit thread for federal employees that got laid off.

“2015, oh wow 5 years ago, no wait 7, oh wait 8, oh yeah 10” why can my brain not accept that I am OLD

I had missed this declaration. So this is was in-house developed tool that, among other things, provided help drafting documents and the firm *did* do training on it (though possibly it was optional?)

I'm looking at declarations just filed in the most recent hallucinations case. The name partner talks about Learned Hand and lofty notions of the profession. The more junior attorney (still quite experienced) falls on their sword and takes all the blame. www.courtlistener.com/docket/67564...

NEW — In an alarming email last night reviewed by me, Coast Guard members learned that 1,135 members' direct deposit account routing information was compromised due to a data breach from unauthorized access. It was only discovered because an officer “reported anomalous activity” on their account.

Shame is one of the few things that humans consistently fear more than death.

Join us for this today! We'll each be talking through some things we've been following this week, should be a good time!

Every time something happens, I go look it up in Project 2025, and sure enough there it is. Only difference is, in Project 2025 they said they'd do most of this through Congress.

New flyer just dropped--spread the word with healthcare folks and among disabled adults. Download at link. www.disability-rights-watch.com/2025/02/12/t...

News is overwhelming. People offline don't understand what's happening. Their rights are being pulled out from under them. Print out these flyers and take it to the streets. Featuring a QR cosd that links to explainer and action items. www.disability-rights-watch.com/2025/02/12/t...

This bill still has to go through the House and get the governor’s signature, all of which is very likely. It is deeply unpopular across the state. Please help us raise hell about it.
