Nope. Demote it to the G6 and start figuring out a way forward without the Americans

Motion to rename it the Holy Roller Empire? Maybe Holy Rollin’ Empire?
comment in response to post
“We fought together in World War II” Yes and what happened between the Americans and the USSR from 1949-1991?

Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith would be incensed at Premier Danielle Smith
comment in response to post
But unity and togetherness and blah blah blah. Nah. Time to bring the hammer down on these MAGA thugs.

Man if my best friend threatened me the way the Americans have, they would no longer be welcome in my home or anywhere near me.

There are people we have to try and engage with and deradicalize. Some of that involves the Democrats not being spineless pushovers seeking consensus all the time. For god sakes find a principle and fight on it. But there are a few people in the fringe right we would be better off if they were gone

I agree with you and him on both fronts. I’m sick of these people and the fools propping them up. I’m sick of there being no accountability for any conservative down there for the past 22 years. Hold someone accountable, silence the evangelicals and I’ll be out for less blood. However….

Next time I’m down there I might have to stop at this place

Little late to the party on this, but I love this version

I know it seems odd for a New Democrat to sing the praises of the LPC. But credit where it’s due, they’ve always stood up for who we are and resisted demands to Americanize
comment in response to post
Yeah… the LPC needs to put in the work this time. There’s no great saviour. There’s no Chrétien to save it from this and there’s no JT. What’s more is they already tried that and it worked until it failed. But they need to put in the work because they’re the ones who’ve always kept us Canadian
comment in response to post
Yup. At this point it’s a quell the bleeding and boost support. Bring the time on the opposition benches down to 8-9 years instead of 12-16 or god forbid 20.
comment in response to post
I just want a competent, capable Liberal leader who can put a dent in PP’s expected landslide and leave the Liberals with a strong opposition bench. If a new Liberal leader won it would be the biggest “holy crap” moment probably since 1979
comment in response to post
I mean at this point, there would be no reason to vote down the government… Give the new Prime Minister a chance to present a throne speech. I don’t think that the liberals are going to be reelected but right now the next leader has to try and stop the biggest landslide in 40 years.

Darn that Tupper!

He’s not The Doctor. He’s more The Master. Sorry… bad Doctor Who reference

I kinda wish she’d get the f-k out of Canada honestly…

:( probably the last genuinely honourable man to live in the White House

Holy shit.

The party at every level holds itself back. And it’s frustrating to watch. The SK NDP has a growth in vote share in some rural ridings but I feel like they’ll never actually do anything about it. AB can probably get some soft blue ridings but won’t because they think rural AB sounds like Twitter.

Ignore the true believers. They’re crazy. Trudeau has overstayed his welcome and it’s time for the NDP to plan a future without Singh. Both parties need to get leaders that speak TO people and not AT them. And to go beyond their bases to do it.

Hmmmm i think i saw the original of this in 1993….

When I was a reporter, I never understood the arrogant disconnect between journalists and everyone else. And man… I saw some real smug, high and mighty pieces of…. Work.
comment in response to post
Oh we are in for soooooo many of those.
comment in response to post
When this is all over, he’s got to go. And the NDP needs a long hard look at itself. The LPC will probably just try and get one of the Chrétien boys at this point rather than actually do any real reflection.

And labour laws. Real ones that don’t border on slavery!

He won?! 😃

And like not even the fun end. The end that Kim Campbell was on.

At this point, a new leader might at least be able to pull off 2011 again. If it’s a decent leader maybe 1984. If he doesn’t quit? It’s 1993 for them

Madam Treason Weasel. I love this name…
comment in response to post
Well, you see… had there been any younger colleagues working with them in the newsroom they could have stopped them from looking like fools. Instead, they said those younger wannabe journalists around your age needed 10 years for an entry level job so nobody could correct them

Glad someone asked it. You would never know that this party is the party that governed us and made us who we are most of the 20th century. It’s not like everyone from 1993-2006 is dead or has a busy calendar. Why hasn’t anyone been brought in from that Liberal govt to provide guidance, ever?
comment in response to post
Where do I begin? A preacher standing up in a Bible meeting saying “there’s nothing more pleasing to god than a broken will” My cousin taking his own life after being raised by born agains and falling into depression and drugs. Christians just rejecting the rules and making their own.
comment in response to post
Nope. I work in insurance and a lot of people expect me to be on the dead guy’s side. And no I’m really not. I’m sorry his family has to go through this, but if you allow unregulated business to just deny medical care as though we’re dinged up cars, you make a violent reaction inevitable. FA&FO.
comment in response to post
Right? I’ve played Bioshock, it doesn’t make me want to go wiping out libertarians
comment in response to post
That’s kind of the frustrating thing with this government. When he took over in 2015 there were still some people around from 1993-2006. Why the hell did he never involve or reach out to them? They knew how to run a government.
comment in response to post
Those two could get a 15 year sentence and it still wouldn’t be enough.

My favourite part of downtown Calgary is a walkable pedestrian street.

I work in insurance and I agree. I’ll happily insure your Honda Civic. Or your house. If a claim goes sideways or is denied I’ll explain why and make sure there’s no gaps if I can. But I shouldn’t be asked to insure a human body. It’s a form of playing God nobody has the right to do.
comment in response to post
I think he needs to go before the Liberal party gets 1993’d
comment in response to post
Also fair. They’re really were a lot of unintended consequences with that just so business could save a quick buck or get butts in seats during a labour shortage
comment in response to post
That we are in a position rather. Sorry!
comment in response to post
If the point you’re making is that we aren’t in a position where we cant adequately meet the needs of the people we’re bringing over and we’re creating a permanent underclass of people who can’t advance, then I am in complete agreement with you and that’s not a conservative view at all
