Why did I do this? Well as per usual with the Showa Criterion set, this dub is presented in subpar quality. This random 1999 DVD release from Power Multimedia of the export cut actually sounds pretty good compared the over-trebled and heavily noise managed Toho-approved master on the Criterion.
