“Politicians will become more accountable…” 🤣🤣🤣

Another reason why we won’t be visiting the States for a few years… The air will be as toxic as the Government!

I’m just going to wait until the inevitable photo lands showing O’Sullivan going through the e-queues at the airport!

I’m sorry, I don’t remember reading ‘becoming Reform-lite’ in the 2024 manifesto! I’m so disappointed with Labour at the moment! Sleep walking towards a massive loss in 2028/29! If we’d wanted what they’re currently giving us, we’d have kept the Tory horror show in power! FFS!

Totally agree! We’ve waited so long to be in government and this is what we get! Sleep walking into a Reform led government in 2028/29… 😢

This ⬆️ - You are spot on!

You know, I think the Greens would be the natural alternative and one of my colleagues at work is an ex-Labour, now Green Party councillor! But where I live in Spen Valley (Northern Working Class) - a vote for anything other than Labour will give us the Tories, or worse now, Reform.

I’m a very despondent Labour member. After the joy of last July, I just feel a bit empty politically now! 😟

It gets me every time when Australians mention “the Libs” and I think you’re talking about the good guys until I remember your Libs are our Tories! Like how the Dems in the US are blue, which we consider a right wing political colour! We all need to align at some point! ❤️

Exactly! There is plenty of time to sit and relax once we get to our end destination!

Thanks for the response Bryan! We’re still very tempted and will likely do this! Alternative is to stay around the city centre…

But would love to know if it is in reality? Family of five, well travelled kids aged 16, 14 & 12. Ta.

It’s only a small action, but we’re holidaying in Colombia 🇨🇴 this summer from the UK 🇬🇧 with the kids and had the option of a 12hr layover in Miami or Toronto on the way out! Easiest decision in the world - looking forward to our whistle stop Toronto trip!

I completely agree with this! I’ve heard people are now looking at using burner phones whilst travelling to the states! On a separate note, I always thought the word “Twat” was distinctly British but pleased to learn that Canadians use it too!

Does the right thing in letting the kid through. Unlike when our disgraced former 🇬🇧 PM Boris Johnson took out a child on the Rugby pitch! Mark Carney is a gentleman and true leader! www.theguardian.com/politics/vid...

Their stance on the EU is certainly one that I share!

I agree with a comment on this about our values no longer aligning to the US! I will have to review my position as a Labour Party member if Starmer pushes us closer to the US in a way that is detrimental to our relationship with the EU.

I’m so sorry to hear this! Real world impacts to millions of people in the US and beyond! I hope things get better for you!

If you haven’t already, watch The Fortune Hotel - it’s our UK 🇬🇧 version of the same show and it’s so much better! I also think Serafinowicz is great but Stephen Mangan gives the same British vibes! Our version is more friendly and light hearted!

What must those guys behind her have been threatened with / promised for them to keep quiet throughout her disgusting monologue?!?!?!?!?!

Happened here in the UK not so long ago when Suella Braverman, Home Secretary at the time, flew out to Rwanda to inspect the camps they were building to house asylum seekers entering the UK! Horrible & nasty!

Amateur here on American politics but what is the chance that this announcement is just a dead cat strategy to divert from #Signalgate

Completely agree! The daily mail wouldn’t recognise journalism if it bit it on the backside! Its regular position is as a hate spewing propaganda machine for the Tories (and worse)!

Where is Biden? Where is Obama? Where is Bush? Where is Clinton? Why are they not shouting from the rooftops?!?!? The rule books have been ripped up - They should be the loudest voices in opposition!

This is just another reason not to visit the States for any reason! Sad times.

I agree! I was hoping for more too on social justice and just ‘doing the right thing’. But…I’d take this government before the previous Sunak, Truss, Johnson, May & Cameron governments every day of the week!
