I hope that one day he runs for office. This is the kind of passion our elected officials need!

Iād like to know that too. Is she OK? Iāll do some research and see if I can find out.

Age is just a number. So if you can work till you are 98 then great.

Gabe, my mother-in-law is 90 years old and has no problem driving. I do know the DMV does give drivers test to those over a certain age and I think that's a good idea. But just because someone is older doesn't mean they can't do things. I think the problem has more to do with term limits.

We absolutely need term limits! I feel like the Senators in particular stay forever and just get richer and richer off the back of the working class.

Exactly. She has always stood up! Reclaimed her time. I love Maxine Waters and I wish other representatives and senators would follow her lead.

Ageism. How about we vote for those who really do represent us and stand up for us at all cost, regardless of age.

That is a brilliant idea! Remind them they are attacking Americans. And the principles of America.

The majority of democratic elected officials are doing nothing. Except for Maxine Waters. She was on the streets with the protesters. Why is it always the women that will stand up?
comment in response to

I agree that they will take it no matter what. But after violence on the streets of LA and people dying then what? What's the plan?

I'm truly sorry you feel that way. I do think he cares. But the truth is Leigh, I think all of our politicians have let us down in so many ways, especially the Democrats. Take care.
comment in response to

Absolutely. Right now he is trying to strip California of our federal funding. In addition to that heās putting Marines on our streets. Itās pretty hostile. And I most certainly donāt have all the answers but I understand why Governor Newsome doesnāt want to see bloodshed in the streets of LA.
comment in response to

Governor doesnāt want his constituents gunned down on the streets of LA. But thatās exactly what some want and theyāre sitting in the White House. So do we give it to them? And Trump is targeting California Federal dollars. Heās trying to strip our resources. Hostile.
comment in response to
post
Well you're definitely hostile I'll give you that. Of course it's important to stop the actual occupation, that is a national responsibility. By Keeping the protest peaceful Newsom saves lives. As a Californian I don't want to see my fellow Californians die on the streets of LA.
comment in response to

Newsom is not perfect but he does care. The president of United States just rolled up in his state and unloaded the military. Uninvited. He's walking a tight rope trying to keep protesters peaceful.

Here at home, the media is pushing a false narrative of āLA riotsā using images of burning cars, fires that were started by police. Why? Because chaos sells. And because theyāre afraid of losing access to Trump. But this isnāt journalism. Itās complicity.

100% correct! We need to stand with our communities. That is what America is all about.

I agree. When I worked for the state of California every written correspondence had to be on a sixth grade level.

Perfectly said. She doesn't know how to read the room and frankly I don't think she cares to read the room. She just wanted to read her remarks. And so she did.

I am truly sorry about your husband. You know about cancer. And the Republicans just don't care. I swear I do not understand their game.

I concur. A lot of people do not understand the constitution, our democracy and the three branches of government. As a society we have failed to educate and now we are paying a price.
