It's quite common to see people, esp. in the US, writing off the PSP as a failure because it didn't sell as many units as the DS. But if you think how popular it was and how good it was at what it set out to do, it's a genuine success. It sold nearly as many units as GBA despite costing 2,5x more!

It was such a fascinating device. I could play Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories one moment, and the next, watch a UMD copy of 28 Days Later. It really did feel like the console of the future back in those days.
