Saw a red kite circling low over a field as I descended from the ridge of the Ashdown Forest. So elegant and poised and flashed scarlet in the sunlight.

*I know there are but a tenner a side on record store day isn't the same as taking a weekly punt for a quid or two on something because the cover or band name looked interesting

A Month in the Country led me to Quince Tree Press. Harpole & Foxberrow sounded funny then also mentioned on @backlisted.bsky.social so ordered a copy along with an Edward Thomas pocketbook because I'm currently a bit obsessed by small books & 'zines. TBR pile grows.

Made by Freres Pinton in Felletin nr Aubusson who have long history including stuff for Jean Lurçat, Le Corbusier, Alexander Calder & Ferdinand Léger. Felletin is about 550km from Dieppe. Aubusson has a museum dedicated to the art of tapestry. An idea for a 600km Super Randonneur ride is forming.

Sidetracked by The Field Mice seeing as they are next to Felt in the not quite alphabetical vinyl shelves. Engineered by Ian Catt who also did St Etienne who also covered The Field Mice. It's all connected one way or another.

Always loved that sleeve too and had it in mind when I did the Beauvais water tower print even though it ended up being something different.

Sideways step to St Etienne as Maurice Deebank co-wrote a track and played guitar on the B-side and gets name checked in Avenue
