I think I massively misinterpreted this post, and I am so sorry. I don’t know where the fuck my brain was when I left my initial reply here.

If anything, I would say that your reading opens up The Hills Have Eyes film ITSELF to more criticism. Due to how that minorities "going too far" in their fight for equality and justice is seen by some progressives as an inherently toxic story type that serves as a DEFENSE for

Not even any well-thought out disagreements with your reading, just endless cries of “Woke!” And “Forced Politics!” that wouldn’t have convinced me of anything even if I actually HAD hated that video!

the fictional violence was even JUSTIFIED. You just described your own allegorical reading of the movie, that a lot of bad faith people just took and ran with. Either by taking everything you said WAY too literally, or making up shit completely out of whole cloth!

But I really didn’t get thrown into the intense rage over that video that a LOT of other people did, and was actually pretty surprised to find out other folks hated it so much. I could probably talk about this a lot more myself, but the bottom line is not once in your original video did you say

Maybe it’s because I was never that into The Hills Have Eyes specifically (I enjoy much more surreal or comedic horror personally), or the fact that I understand the concept of villains with a point/EVERYBODY doing awful things and there not really being definitive heros in movies.

Looking back on it, I’d say I found your part about The Hills Have Eyes to be the best segment of it. I never really got that shocked or scandalized by your reading of that movie, and I say this as somebody who watched it when it first came out. Before all of the weird/dumb reactions to it.

I thought this was WAY better than your Wendigoon video. And, quite frankly, I think that there was still some stuff in your Wendigoon video that was actually good. I have always had my disagreements with it and other videos from you obviously, but THIS is an absolutely insane thing to

Damn, I didn’t know it was possible for Family Guy to have ANY type of even remotely fucking positive/neutral mentioning or crossover with Bob’s Burgers anymore! Oh well, it took several years and really crappy TV seasons, but we’ve FINALLY got at least something!

I thought it was genuinely some of the best queer representation I had EVER seen on American television. It also looked really charming and funny as well, but the joyful diversity of every character/relationship in the show was definitely a major factor that drew me in initially.

He has a wife and a baby daughter. This brave man is putting this entire life on line for the Palestinian people. The very least we can do is pay attention. Please.

And keep talking about Gaza. There was an update from earlier today that they are still going through a blackout

The extreme use of ai generated images by pro-Palestine groups makes it nearly impossible to vet all images when mixed with real ones. What isn't impossible to vet, is the 55,000+ people Israel has murdered so far in Gaza.
