One day you’re crawling through the mud at Quantico like Jodi Foster in Silence of the Lambs, the next day you’re printing off an Epstein files pdf that’s been widely available online since 2022 to put in a binder for the Libs of TikTok woman. Sorry it’s funny to me that the FBI is now dumb as hell

Fort Worden

Dan Bongino kicks down your door and busts in dual-wielding shoulder-mounted rocket launchers “You’re under arrest for not listening to my latest podcast. The guest was Joe Francis”

From Downtown Port Townsend

I still love how ambient bros got triggered by the Andre 3000 flute album

Me and the boys from the Stutz Bearcat forum are gonna be test driving our Stutz Bearcats all day tomorrow down by the lake. Hold my calls

folks are replying to this who have not watched The X-Files enough to be qualified to reply

Guy who is on more steroids and cocaine than Hulk Hogan in 1984 and is more racist than John Wilkes Booth: seed oils are bad for you

Imagine X-Files with Dan Bongino instead of Skinner

Always impressed by guitarists who wear big coats when they play. I can’t really even play guitar in a long-sleeved shirt

The first album I bought with my own money was Red Hot Chili Peppers greatest hits collection “What Hits?” I am not embarrassed by this purchase because it’s fine music

“Christ is in the bathroom Look in any mirror on the wall And Satan's in the garden shed He'd like to screw you all”

I’ll be honest here - I thought Bill Fay was already dead. RIP. I discovered this album during the heyday of vinyl-to-MP3 blogs - so many of the grails those folks would post have now been reissued or can be streamed. I jammed this tonight, it’s a perfect and perfectly strange record. Revelatory

Me when I was three

🎶 Whooo hoo I look just like Waxahatchee, whooo hoo and you’re MJ Lenderman 🎵

Having to live in society with conservatives is exhausting. If I dig deep into my well of understanding, I can imagine it’s more exhausting to BE conservative. But that’s not making me feel any less angry about them taking their neuroses out on the rest of us. There’s no excuse for it

I am my own Numero Group

Archival release here - the "first" album by the proto-MF band tomsmen. Not sure what was up w/ that name, but I was obsessed w/ Tom Goes To The Mayor and I wanted the only drums used to be toms. We did not follow through w/ that. My dad sent me a box of CDs - I had forgotten recording a lot of this

Watching an old Iron Chef America and Richard Belzer is a judge. I think his character, Detective John Munch, appeared in more different shows than any other character in TV history - L&O, Homicide, The Wire, X-Files and The Beat. RIP

Many thanks to @serendipityjones.bsky.social for creating this wonderful beat tape from the bones of our Live 2024 album - I really love this, had to share it!

Thank you so much LOST IN A SEA OF SOUND for this thoughtful review of MF DUO BAND. Scrolling through this site, we are in great company here - long live blogspot music freaks!

So much damn flipping I’ll probably listen digital more, so damn good I had to get the LP anyway

No freak folk/new weird america/drone folk/psych folk type act has a mandolin

The first time Bre heard MJ Lenderman she was like “sounds like Ben Kweller”. Now Kweller has a new album and Lenderman plays on it. She always knows what she’s talking about

I watched Stalker (1979) last night. Holy shit

Alma took this pic

Neil Young plays the “Boarman” in The Island Of Doctor Moreau (1996) [which I just watched]

My dad sent me some of my old merch he found. Some of this is over 20 years old

Waking up after the Bud Tapes showcase show with this double CS super jammer

Glad you appreciate this one @rockettemorton.bsky.social - it’s getting close to ten years old!

Since I have been watching a ton of movies I was reminded of this short film my friend Ryan and I made in college - our ode to German expressionism and Chaplin, Keaton and Lloyd. Tree Dick

I got a hard copy of Mope Grooves incredible Box Of Dark Roses. The record will make you feel like you have work to do artistically, the liner book will make you feel like you have work to do politically. This thing grows with each spin

I watched To Live And Die In LA (1985) tonight. I feel like folks don’t counterfeit money anymore

It’s winter 2007. You’re simultaneously watching Zeitgeist and listening to Liquid Swords in the basement of a house 8 people live in. You take another hit off the gravity bong and unwrap a cold Junior Bacon Cheeseburger you paid $1 for

One of my music goals completed here, our band name mentioned in one of Portland’s alt weeklies. I’ll happily be known as a DIY rat. Couldn’t happen w/o @watershrews.bsky.social 🙏🙏🙏

thanks for this wonderful blurb @queencityjamz.bsky.social

Bandcamp Friday? If I were to make a significant amount from Bandcamp today, I’d donate it all to @translifeline.bsky.social

I watched Chinatown (1974) last night. Probably the 3rd or 4th time I’ve watched it but that movie goes so hard. Every moment sizzles, it’s perfect. Every performance is peaking. The ending is so relentlessly bleak, I still wasn’t ready for it. Definite candidate for best movie ever made

I watched Nosferatu (1922) last night and it is crazy how well a 103 year old movie holds up. German expressionism defined so much of what movies still do that it barely reads as old except for the silent era over-acting. The music could be switched out, but the shots are absolutely timeless

I agree with @byroncoley.bsky.social about MOPE GROOVES. I have had this on repeat - this is music for the times. Tragic that the genius behind it, Stevie Pohlman, took her own life

Sunday!

Music creating a tangible good! This is my thing right now

More pics from Reno - I think it’s a great city

Dropped another MF album on the streamers. Vernal MF Equinox. This one was mastered by the great Fred Thomas

Periodically I remember that Les Claypool made a wook Spinal Tap called The Electric Apricot: Quest For Festeroo. The in-film band’s song “Hey Are You Goin’ To Burning Man” still pops into my head. The movie is unwatchable
