Second 40-piece for LeBron after 40. Completely unprecedented!

Blowing a 19 point lead in 10 minutes takes some real work

In honor of @nba.com joining the platform, here's a 1996 commercial for NBA․com that I transferred from the ole VHS collection - an ad that does a good job of capturing how space-aged it used to feel to merely be using the internet.

January 30, 1997: Houston's Hakeem Olajuwon records a statistical anomaly, scoring 48 PTS on 24-40 FG WITHOUT ATTEMPTING a free throw or a 3-pointer. Olajuwon also had 10 REB but the Rockets lost to Denver, 113-109. Ricky Pierce led the Nuggets with 25 PTS (11-18 FG).

I mean you guys mostly know about it because you follow me, but Dracula, Motherfucker! unfortunatley had an October 2020 release date and it's some of my favorite work I've done

I miss when they pretended these dunks were coming from their personal creativity

ASME Award nomination day was always a great time for performative aw-shucks humility on Twitter, and @asherelbein.bsky.social can definitely do that if he wants for this ASME-nominated bit. But I, the story's editor, refuse to. Parul Sehgal, you will be DEFEATED. defector.com/the-judgment...

Time was, rich men didn't try to take over the government to further their own wealth/power. They simply got like-minded friends together, made plans, and then froze to death on an ice flow having gotten their boat stuck in the ice trying to navigate the northwest passage.

On Thursday, Kevin Durant became the 8th player in NBA history to reach the 30,000-point plateau. Here's a breakdown of where he racked up all those points. Check out his career stats here: www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/du...

Cannot begin to tell you how sad reading this made me. That guy has such a polluted outlook on the world. I see no happy endings here.

If you ever want to cheer yourself up, just remember the fifth rawest moment in comics, in which someone got cooked.

sighing, tapping the sign

hollywood's got a lot to answer for imo for instance getting us to believe that villains would be intelligent and interesting

Everyone is severely underrating Anthony Davis. The man is a legitimately incredible basketball player and they act like he's Joe Barry Carroll.

Also can't really see LeBron being happy with this.

You know what? If this gets the Mavs a championship it's worth it.

Jerry Lawson invented the video game cartridge. He's the reason they stopped making pong consoles in the 1970s. If it weren't for him, the Atari 2600 and many others would literally NEVER exist at all.

Tired of having a to keep reference images and tabs open on your computer while working? Might I suggest printing the ones you use the most and getting a music stand to keep next to the desk (great for reference books, too)

You can't even consume media related to sports without being inundated with ads for the gambling apps. Nothing is safe. EVERY ONE of my go to podcast has them at this point.

A massive, massive sports betting scandal is like the sports equivalent of global warming in that ppl can see it coming a mile away and know it has potential to do irrevocable harm to its host and yet the powers that be have decided to look the other way because there's too much money to be made rn.
