Plus, it is nice to see more about how the ultimate annihilator has impacted Mobius ever since the endgame saga. Nothing much to say about the second story besides it being alright and setting something up next issue for Sally.

Lastly, Rob and Mari-An's romantic relationship is just rushed, as when they first met, they immediately gave each other the fuck-me eyes.

Also, Sonic's decision to keep Antoine's dad being alive a secret from him felt extremely out of character. Especially considering how in earlier issues Sonic got upset with Uncle Chuck over keeping Sonic's parents a secret from him.

However, I'm a bit more critical near the end, as we're given context regarding the creation of the sword of acorn that just feels like an unnecessary inclusion in the overall story.

So far, not much to say about him, besides the fact that he gets his ass kicked really easily and that he's related to Amy, which is interesting to say the least.

Also, we got to find out what happened to Antoine's dad, which is neat since he was mentioned in passing during the endgame saga. Plus, we've also been introduced to Rob o' the Hedge, who I have already known about in passing.

I can somewhat understand what Ken is trying to do, as he wants to gradually build up Knuckles into becoming a proper guardian; that doesn't change the fact that the story can often drag.

It's unfortunate, as even earlier arcs that I enjoyed by Ken are brought down by these issues. Currently, Knuckles's character is in a weird place, as despite it being his series, he tends to have little to do at times, besides listening to exposition by his family.

A criticism of Ken Pender's writing is that his dialogue is overtly wordy and tends to result in more questions than answers. Because of this, I tend to have a hard time following the order of events, which isn't helped with the strange echidna names (Crystal-La).

For some clarification, I’m currently on the Knuckles series issue #11 and have been using @ponett.dog’s reading guide
