If you're looking for something a little more simple Fire Emblem is fine. But it's the creativity and experimenting with the job system and abilities is what appeals to me about FFT along with its plot (which is what the op is about).

in hindsight, it's kinda fucked up because when I got games as gifts, they were at absurd prices anyway since retailers determined the price and the way Toys R Us and such priced games was ridiculous.
On the upside, you could use your allowance/saved lunch money on rentals.

Even then I'd imagine it's like ps4/5 with fake framerates. Stuff like frame gen and such doing the heavy lifting to keep the illusion going.

The problem at hand is that the right has very powerful propaganda and indoctrination tactics and there's a lack of counter-indoctrination and counter-propaganda to sway any minds.
You can try with education and mentoring but you lose out in the time and numbers game.

Also consider how strong experience makes you. I think the Raths do a lot of damage and are capable of carting you easily, but you quickly learn their tells and what their attacks look like so you hardly get hit.

I’ve been in the game long enough where nothing starts for me until late HR at the earliest. G Rank/Master Rank is essentially where I feel it all starts.
I don’t think I’ve struggled in LR since Tri & 3U and HR in 4U. So your mileage will vary a lot.
Wilds does have low health mons for sure tho.

ymmv. The same thing that took me 5-7 minutes took a friend like 20 minutes lmao.
Experience is doing the carrying for sure, the better and familiar you get with everything the easier it all gets until the deeper ends.
For me MH doesn't particularly get hard until like 3 star G/Master rank.
