This coaching staff dramatically improved the Saints OLine without big names.

Geno may be better than Darnold, may not. It’s not clear. Guarantees were the difference and there’s nothing wrong with that. Is what it is.

They didn’t guarantee as much, simple as that. This FO doesn’t give year 2 guarantees, so he signed in LV for about the same contract SEA offered, but $18M gtd in year two.

Julio is a great player, and we are lucky to have him on the team, but we can also acknowledge he has actually gotten worse every year. He hasn’t had a real sustained breakout other than a handful of months in 3+ years. We all hope he does eventually, it sure seems possible.

Geno for Darnold a solid move. Younger and cheaper.
Oline improvement was never really an option in FA. Dalman was going to CHI and an injured Fries refused a medical (only a handful of good games in his career). Everyone else is as bad as the players we already have.
