Meant to post about this yesterday, took the boys out while Dani was at a brunch/bookstore date with my co-workers... Went to one of the LGS in the area because Eric wanted to look at Pokemon cards. They were having a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament and when announcing the rules, they mentioned pronouns...

I realized this morning, I never made the connection between the Mist and the Black Mages. The Mist is a manufactured product from the Iifa Tree on another continent and what the Black Mages are made from. At some point, you destroy the part of the Iifa tree that produces the mist.

Also, Judges can come for me if I'm wrong, but I believe Curses are permanents that YOU CONTROL? So you can curse an opponent and then give them "control" of the curse YOU afflicted them with. You can literally make it THEIR CURSE on them. ... Why am I like this.

Vivi was my favorite character in my favorite Final Fantasy game. He was pure good, not always confident in himself and ultimately wanted to do what he could to protect those he loved. I felt a lot of kinship with Vivi. Also, at one point in my life, I was told I would most likely not live long :)

"Seth, I don't get it/I'm not well versed in FF or FF9 specifically... Explain?" WHY YES I WILL, RANDOM FICTIONAL POSTER! In FF9, the main continent was coated in Mist, which made monsters more aggressive. Throughout the story, you find there are Black Mages, like one main character, Vivi!

Something I noticed about the Final Fantasy cards, White is represented in all four decks. Each other color is represented twice. I wonder if this has something to do with the white part of the color pie often being aligned with "good" or "righteousness" and these are all protagonists/good guys.

I cannot tell you HOW excited I am to see more of the Final Fantasy set being showcased! None of these characters were a massive surprised or my favorites of the series, but it's still SO COOL to see the games I grew up knowing being referenced in my favorite card game <3

Played both Aetherdrift precons. Hashaton was a good time. The fact that he doesn't exile the discarded card was nutty, I cycled a Gempalm Polluter to get a token copy, then cast a Rot Hulk to get the actual card back. Good stuff.
