The points are independant, I think my standards for myself are high, but a lot of ppl have low standards, so your argument is effectively pushing toward having low standards for society.

You put then in the role vis a vs yourself by arranging to use their services.
If a nurse wants to hire me as say a lawyer, it'd be a bit rough for me to apply nurse legal skills to the job because I figured it was fair.
