My depression is trying so hard to kick my ass rn

Also, remind me to tell y’all about the chat conversation I had with an anti-abortion person on an anti-abortion help line recently - I’m planning a line by line close reading of their lies!

The smugness! The lies! The fake kindness!

Want to fight every single person who works at a fake clinic and that’s the truth. I think I could take 90% of them??

My new advice column, ✨Okay, So...✨is here! Always thoughtful, sometimes funny, never judgmental. This is *not* a tough-love type of column. I definitely don't have all the answers, but man do I love to solve problems that aren't mine. thesweetfeminist.substack.com/p/okay-so-my...

Abortion bans make pregnancy much more dangerous. Whether you plan to stay pregnant or not. Please read this report about what’s been going on in Texas, where I live. Where I put my life at risk by being pregnant and giving birth while abortion was banned.

NEW: Pregnancy became far more dangerous in Texas after the state banned abortion, according to ProPublica’s first-of-its-kind analysis, which found the sepsis rate for women hospitalized as they miscarried in the 2nd trimester shot up by more than 50%. https://propub.li/43487Tj

Very very specifically want to lie down in the windowless nurse’s office at my elementary school.

I’m so serious

My new advice column ✨Okay, So…✨ is a space for warm, thoughtful, validating advice. Sometimes funny! Never judgmental. I want to talk about: - Big & small feelings, your pettiest dramas, relationships of all kinds, the chaos of being alive Tell me: www.thesweetfeminist.com/secrets-spar...

Good morning here’s a list of words my baby says (my personal favorite: ghost)

I need to know if any of y’all have watched Valeria because I’m watching the first season and love it so much! Like Girls meets Sex and The City in Spain.

This is true! The Turnaway Study found that most people feel relief after their abortion.

Happy Valentine’s Day to people who have abortions 🩷

This is all deeply sick and I will be watching to see which ghoulish lawyers rep these men. I don't think Jonathan Mitchell can do them all! www.nytimes.com/2025/02/13/h...

Truly cannot stand how anti-abortion rhetoric weaponizes the concept of grace!!

A little bit on why fake clinics (crisis pregnancy centers) are the absolute worst:

abortion affirmation of the day: You don’t have to feel guilty about having an abortion. I’m so proud of you for knowing what’s right for you.

I’m so sorry but the lyrics to Call Your Girlfriend are unacceptable. Imagine your gf/bf/whatever tells you that *the person they cheated on you with* told them to tell you that “the only way your heart will mend is when you learn to love again”.

I’m thinking we need a benefactor (or benefactors) for this, perhaps in the form of rich men who have benefited from abortion access!

The majority of people who have abortions are people of faith, thank you.

I *really* want a billboard for THE ABORTION COMPANION on the stretch of highway between Kansas and Colorado where I grew up seeing a lot of anti-abortion billboards.

Currently doing oppo research on anti abortion orgs and scheming ways to launch some kind of sparkly sticker chart reward system of our own, for people who share accurate and affirming information about abortion đź©·

“Why did you have an abortion?” Because I didn’t want to be pregnant.

There are no “reasonable” restrictions on abortion care. None.

In case you’ve never heard anyone talk about their abortion before: Hi, I’m Becca! I had an abortion when I was in college, and now I’m 32 and the mother of a 1 year old. My abortion helped me live the life I want.

Said another way: you don’t have to take a path just because it’s there. It’s your decision.

Said another way: you don’t have to take a path just because it’s there. It’s your decision.

there's a misinterpretation circulating that i feel i must correct: kendrick was not wearing "bootcut" jeans. those were full-on, 12-14" diameter flares.

The default narrative is that if you find out you’re pregnant unexpectedly you should/will continue the pregnancy. But why? What if the default was that you won’t continue the pregnancy, unless it’s something you actively want to do? (This is rhetorical)

abortion affirmation of the day: The most common feeling after having an abortion is relief. Any and all of your feelings are completely okay.

I don’t have to fend off the desire to comply in advance. Anyone who knows me knows that, fortunately or unfortunately, I would rather die than let someone I don’t respect tell me what to do.

Trying to determine “acceptable” vs “unacceptable” situations for when people can have abortions puts all pregnant people at risk.

Google isn’t a reliable source for accurate information about abortion.

“Emergency contraception and abortion are just not the same thing, and anti-abortion groups want to muddy the waters between the two because it will make it easier for them to ban both.”— @reproaction.bsky.social's @sheermean.bsky.social told @jezebeldotcom.bsky.social
