Let's reverse the question. Why don't *you* identify a single sitting Republican who has publicly stated the cuts are bad and/or illegal and has in any way indicated he/she will do anything to oppose them?
What's that? There are none? That's because they all support the cuts.
comment in response to
post
"They're allowing the executive branch to get away with these cuts because it prevents them from having to take any political stand and do it themselves" isn't the argument you think it is. That's still supporting the cuts.

This is all of them now. None of them cared about Panama, Canada, or Greenland before January. Nor did they ever express a desire to "develop" Gaza.

No, I'm sorry. A person his age is a kid...unless he's black and committed an offense no matter how minor. In which case, he's a grown man whose life should henceforth be defined by that offense.

It's not that I care much about Dejoy specifically (though he absolutely should have been shit canned). It's that he is just a shining example about how the Democrats are completely ill prepared for what is about to unfold over the next 4+ years.

The filibuster is a great example of their blind adherence to "tradition" that serves absolutely no one. It isn't in the Constitution. It isn't any form of law. It was an accident of history that should have been killed long ago. But no. Dems will stick to "that's just the way it's done."
comment in response to
post
I know. I know. Even with a majority, the filibuster would have stopped most of their plans. But of course, the majority party in the Senate can set/change debate rules. They should have nuked the filibuster when they had the chance and rammed their policies through while Republicans cried.

It was entirely within the rules for him to fire board members. And 21-22 were the years he actually had a Senate majority.
Not blaming this all on him, obviously. The D party as a whole is led by a bunch of spineless jellyfish afraid to rock the boat in any way, even when circumstances are dire.
comment in response to
post
He didn't need to fight with Dejoy. Biden couldn't *technically* fire him, only the board could do that. But guess who can fire and appoint members of the board?
This was an easy solve.

The way MAGAts are suddenly obsessed with Greenland, Canada, and Panama shows just how cultish Trumpworld is. There is literally nothing he could propose that they wouldn't enthusiastically support as if it's something they've always supported.

These are the same people who think they (or someone else) aren't racist because they've never uttered the exact phrase "I am a racist, and I hate ____ people."
Unless Musk literally says "I, Elon Musk, CEO or Tesla and SpaceX, am a proud neo-Nazi" how can we possibly know? π

I remember when Bin Laden was killed in 2011. I recall how media just coldly described the raid and ignored Anericans' reactions. There was definitely no coverage of people celebrating in the streets, waving American flags. No interviews with random bros shouting about 'Murica!β’ π

Remember in the mid 2010s when every company was falling all over themselves to put "blockchain" or "crypto" in their company name or in their mission statement? This feels a lot like that.

I know the whole "he's a Bible-thumping homophobe, so he must be closeted" thing is usually untrue and can be harmful to repeat... But damn, Josh looks absolutely repulsed by the idea of physical contact with a woman.

The justification I always seem to see is usually "I got spanked 'all the time' as a kid and it worked! I turned out great!"
I mean, maybe you turned out great, but if they had to do it "all the time" then it doesn't seem like it was particularly effective.
