But at some point, you need to stop and stick a fork in it. It can always be better. Perfectionism is a dangerous trap, keeps us in an endless loop of changes, and you can get stuck, at the risk of losing the soul of the piece. [...]

This artwork isn't perfect, but I like the result. A piece of feedback to myself would be that I lost a bit of the dynamism of my first doodle when I went into color, but the rigid aspect participates to the old school vibe so it's ok? I also would have loved to keep refining details forever [...]

and now compare to colored version: sun disappears because almost exactly as bright as sky - here the red versus green hue does the heavy lifting to compose the art. Color is as important as contrast/values when composing a piece. if not taken in account, this can throw your structure off

I went with the classic green/red palette. Tricky one, can really result into the "vomitted pizza" palette if failed :D . Something challenging when working with clashy complementaries is making sure it isn't messing up your values (and composition). Look at the black and white version [...]

Here started the great time of struggle. I couldn't pick a palette. This is just a tiny subset of all the variations I tried. Sometimes, there are no perfect answers. Most of these palettes where working in a way or another. And choosing one means renouncing to another cool one. [...]

Pareil par ici. Les news sont tellement sombres, mais on se force à se renseigner pour pouvoir s'organiser. Se souvenir, et savoir ce qu'il se passe, c'est se préparer.

You have opportunity after opportunity to create something lovely for yourself or others. Every moment you choose to sit and think about horrors beyond your control, every time you make the choice to look for more and more details about just HOW bad... you are turning away from those opportunities.
