The fact that they shut down the beta after people spent real world money on it thinking it was a full release makes me nauseous. This is absolutely predatory behavior and the game devs that made it this way should've stayed in the hole they dug themselves in.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

- Opened a beta in July 2022 that people spent money on and shut it down in June 2023.
- Won Fighting Game of the year 2022.
- Went quiet until May 2024.
- Heavily monetized rewards with no other means to obtain them.
- Five mediocre seasons with little content.
- Shut down one year after release.

My top ten and honorable mentions.
*I meant to put in Metroid Prime Trilogy and not just 3.

This seems like a cool idea...until Limited Run Games was behind it and then my interest vanished.

The Castlevania II Redacted romhack by TheAlmightyGuru is worth taking a crack at next time you play Castlevania II. It's always so cool to see how even small changes like the day/night transitions can go a long way.

Welp. There goes the film industry.
Guess I'm watching YouTube exclusively from now...even though I do that anyway.

Cancelling shows after 1 season and pulling dozens of must-see movies off the service is not "saving Hollywood".
The left side and right side of this CEO's brain looked at eachother, inhaled a gallon of cocaine and uttered the stupidest thing anyone has ever said about Hollywood.
Good god...

I don't want $80 games to be the norm of course, but still. Its better than $100 games.

I never wanna hear people complain about pricing ever again after this. Get it now before they change their minds.

I had no idea about this until just now. Good lord. Good thing I don't own an Xbox or Game Pass. Fuck.

Pokémon Scarlet/Violet and Sword/Shield have physicals that include the DLC. Splatoon 3 has a physical that includes the DLC that's Japan and Europe only.
To quote a famous wrestler (and I'm paraphrasing here): Nintendo, you're still my favorite company, but you're also greedy as fuck.
comment in response to

As someone who already has the DLC, I'm not personally affected by this.
But it is insane to me that the NS2 Edition is $70 (that includes the upgrade) and you have to pay an additional $20 if you want the DLC.
Dude, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has a physical that includes the DLC at Walmart for $70.

I appreciate they're being honest about the framerate issue. I expected them to mask it entirely during the presentation.
To be blunt, though, I'm probably gonna experiment with this once with only the voicechat and just stick to Discord afterwards.

Well, no. Nintendo makes way too much to just simply stop making consoles. I'm saying Nintendo needs to re-evaluate their games and consider pricing one more time before finalizing launch.

If this is how Nintendo is gonna price their games, then this is gonna be a rough generation for them. Not everyone has the luxury to afford even $60 games. If they want people to play their games, then their games need to be on sale more often or bring back the gold coins incentive.

I get what they're saying and I see this being reasonable....if this was the 90's. Game carts were hella expensive back in the day and pricing games back then was up to the developer, sometimes Nintendo, to decide. This is 2025. Games don't need to be this pricey anymore...not in this economy.

I'm rambling on so I'll stop here. I just hate this. I hate that this is the world that I'm forced to live in. My view on life has changed dramatically. Any sense of joy or happiness I once felt is gone. I've never been more truly depressed than I am now.
I don't want to be here anymore.

All this money I'm making and I can't even save $20 because all my paychecks go towards the cost of living. I can't even save for the new Nintendo console. That's how much of my money is used just to even live. ➡️

These new tariffs, to me, are telling me that I am only allowed to spend money on necessities and nothing more. No vacation. No road trips. No eating out. Nothing. You work, you eat, and you shit until you die. Nothing more. Nothing less. Is that how anyone wants to live? ➡️

Xenoblade Chronicles X, another game I really want, same thing. It used to be the cost of living is cheaper and the entertainment is expensive. Now they're both insanely expensive. Like either way, I lose, you know? There are no winners. Only losers. ➡️

I wanted Astro Bot for PS5 for months now. It was a game I was so desperately into. But I can't afford it because my rent and my bills are so high. The cost of living has gone up so much that I can't even go out and buy a little something for me. Its not in the cards. ➡️

And now with the economy the way it is, with the price of just about everything going up at an alarming rate, it's making it harder and harder to find that same joy and optimism I had when I was a child. And that rings true for my passion for gaming. ➡️

But as I get older, it starts to settle in that I'm not a teenager anymore. I'm an adult with a 9-5 job, I have to pay bills and put food on my table. I don't have to ability to sink in half a dozen hours into a game I bought with my own money. ➡️
