Sorry to get political, but the new Trump tariffs are what your economic policy would result in if you put literal gibberish economic grievances as AI prompts.

Eid Mubarak everyone! Have a blessed and happy day.

Having worked in Emergency Medicine for 4 years, I think we should not be feeling guilty for taking a sick day or time off, even for trivial reasons. Obviously within reason, but you don’t have to justify it to anybody. Too often I see people force themselves to work when their head is not in it.

Finally finished Indiana Jones and the Great Circle after inching through it for the past month. Game is simply amazing, the graphics and presentation are top notch. The story is actually better than some of the movies. Personal 9.5/10.

Had a Pt the other day, coming in with chest pain after playing a football match, HR was 40-50, BP was 50/30, unconscious. Gave initial Tx for cardiogenic shock but minimal improvement. Gave him a "push dose Epi", Pt had IMMEDIATE improvement. HR went up to the 70s, BP 100/70, conscious. #emcrit

I'm busy teaching if making memes is teaching #medsky #emimcc

#2024 goals of at least 10k steps per day finally taking shape. Hopefully it continues to 2025.

Me in 2014 with no kids: iPads look cool I guess but I don’t really see the need to have one? Me in 2024 with two small children on a 6-hour flight: iPads are worth tens of millions of dollars and it is a miracle that the market makes them available for a fraction of their true value

Lasix in SCAPE? Not so fast -50% w/o volume overload. It’s an issue of fluid shift(PMID:21934091) -PCWP incr in 1st 10 min post-lasix(PMID:2361377) NTG + BPAP to turn off sympathetic drive + stabilize. Assess volume status + determine if needs diuresis #MedSky #EMIMCC youtube.com/shorts/b6M1N...

An investigation published by The BMJ raised concerns over the 15 years' old landmark PLATO that was used to gain worldwide approval for AstraZeneca's anti-platelet drug ticagrelor (Brilinta in 🇺🇸)

when you've done a procedure but you're called away before you can deal with the sharps

Finishing up Final Fantasy IX on the Switch OLED. An all time classic JRPG, with one of the best character cast and OST in gaming history. Next: onto my night shift. 🥲

What's the most extreme lab result you've had from a patient just coming in to your ED? Tell me the horror stories and what your plan was. #EMIMCC #EMedSky #EMSky

A classic #EMedSky board review question: 😆

Aidan Baron once described atrial fibrillation as "delirium of the heart" and I think that's especially fitting during critical illness. Like delirium, atrial fibrillation is often a secondary problem #emimcc #cardiosky

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't need to justify your reading preferences and choices to anyone. Audiobooks count as reading. Also, you don't have to finish books you don't enjoy. Don't read to impress, read for yourself. Life's too short, love yourself, ok? Signed, a librarian.

Eating good this year with JRPGs, WRPGs, and ARPGs.

#EMedsky #EMsky Friendly reminder that analgesia is a relatively benign intervention that absolutely should be on your to-do list for almost every patient who arrives at your ED. Check if they are on one, and if not, prescribe some. No, it won't make the abdominal exam give a "false negative".

Rabies virus is the most lethal virus. Neuroinvasive rabies is a death sentence. I cannot stress this enough: if you have any physical contact with a bat—especially a bite—get treatment immediately. If it gets into your central nervous system, you will die horribly. www.sfgate.com/bayarea/arti...

No cheating, post your current Lock Screen.

Skytorial: Five pearls on olanzapine 😁 Between agitation and nausea/vomiting, olanzapine has a wide range of use. Olanzapine is generally not a front-line agent (e.g., haloperidol or ondansetron often are). But sometimes, it really comes in clutch....

God, I hope that the internet *and* the culture at large can get away from this sort of thing.

Continuing my playthrough of an old classic before the afternoon shift starts. #FinalFantasyIX #RPGsky #gamingsky
