Facts. The absolute king. (And yes that album is gold) - separately, his song “Someday we’ll all be free” bodies me on every listen - quite possibly my favorite soul tune ever (cage matched against Marvin’s “god is love”)

Thanks for these posts. I also had the pleasure of visiting in 97 when I was in Houston for work. I was equally as touched across the street in the main (big) room of the cy twombly museum

These guys are absolutely amazing. Strangely I’ll put them on before bed and fall asleep to their albums. They are at the tip top of my bands I want to see next list.

Wasn’t able to find my Panic at arrowhead 91 stub but I’ll always remember (while very boomer’d) trying to figure out JBs entire deal and that T. Lavitz was on keys that day.

Yea we have. I was born in Suffern, lived in Tallman > moved to Danville CA 79-83 > then grew up in Ridgewood nj. Been down here just east of Phila in s Jersey for 20 years raising our 3 kids etc etc

Yeah, by 6th grade we’d moved to the east bay for a handful of years and we were listening to Steve Martin “let’s get small” and all the cheech and Chong albums we could get our hands on. I was a mere year away from weed. and to me my entire weed life is by and large made up of nutso humor & music

feel this. Growing up mostly in the nyc metro area the sarcasm and ballbusting thing was in my entire family but getting that wild English humor was also part of my foundation as a kid…like a stepping stone

I grew up w parents who watched Monty python - the show before the movie - so the segues from sketch to sketch in a particular State episode made sense to me
