49- Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour This is honestly really similar to Nintendo's Ask the Developer interviews, but it's hands-on and tons of fun. Made me a mousecon believer! I recommend it to curious enthusiasts! It was a great way to get acquainted with all the quirky bits of this new hardware.

48- Stella of the End: Diary of a Faint Hope A nice follow-up to what has, over time, become one of my favorite VNs. I love this world and I'm glad to see how things played out after the original game. The group who gamified this did mostly good work but I'm a bit skeptical about certain assets..

47- Find Mii After 14 years of slowly chipping away at this through cons and hang outs with friends, I randomly finished Find Mii on a train ride out of NYC 😂 A great little idea that's now unfortunately a relic of a different era. The 3DS years were really special. I miss street pass!!

46- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 A truly exceptional work. It's built with an astounding level of care and skill, and I spent the majority of its runtime in awe of the music, world and story. It fumbled a bit at the end for me personally, but that's okay! I can't wait to see what Sandfall does next.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Kemi. Animals are too good for this world.

Glad he's okay and you get more time together. I will give my fur creature lovins today regardless!!

I've played mine a ton, used to own almost every game but I parted ways with Jack Bros a few years ago so I could buy a bunch of Vita games 😂. I've finished Jack Bros, Wario Land and Red Alarm, and while I do love playing the original hardware... I find them much more comfy using Red Viper 3DS

45- Haste Whaaaat a fucken thrillride of a game. On the hardest difficulty it can be BRUTAL!! But that just made overcoming it all the more satisfying. Great music and absolutely exhilarating, fine-tuned gameplay. The bosses are maybe a bit *too* unforgiving, but I respect it!

44- Metroid Prime Hunters Took me a while, but I finally rolled credits on this! I've been trying to play it on and off for about a year, but the hype for MP4 is real and I decided to lock in! It's dope when DS games push the hardware like this... A technical marvel. Fun and straightforward!

43- Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Wow... I wanted this so bad for years-- an improved, modern version of one of my favorites, a formative title from my college years. It's now as accessible and fun as I always knew it could be, and the story finally has an ending. An S-tier release!!

42- Sapo 3D I am always down for more of these short and sweet 3D platformers! This was a fun one-- had some surprisingly fun twisty challenges as it got closer to the finale. 100% was straightforward and fun to do. I'll keep an eye on this dev!

41- Kirby & The Amazing Mirror This is the meanest Kirby game I've played. It feels like every room, the game just wants you to trip up and fail 😂. It's an interesting experiment for the franchise, both in the map design and the way co-op works. Sarah and I powered through and BEAT this game!

40- Sackboy: A Big Adventure A lovely 3D platformer that really shines in co-op. @arrispect.bsky.social and I worked away at 100% clearing just about every level in the game over the last few years and finally completed that journey tonight! It's also cute as heeeeck. Look at our characters!!

38- Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana A perfect slice of Ys goodness... It lived up to the hype, and I'm really glad I waited for the Memoire version to come out so I could appreciate it in such a beautiful package. This reminded me of everything that made me love other Ys games-- it's a classic!

36- Urban Myth Dissolution Center A fascinating game that sometimes feels a bit at odds with itself... Sometimes, intentionally! 😂 It needs polishing in the translation/editing, but overall I do recommend this to fans of mystery adventure games. Not a perfect game, but it nails its atmosphere!

35- Decline's Drops A game equally beautiful in its visuals, music and game design. I slept on this-- it probably would have been among my favorite games in 2024 if I played it at launch. The music especially is goooorgeous I would love more of this world and its cute puppet protag!

Good luck with this KS! I regretted not supporting last time so I will be backing it this week 😁

34- BS The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets It is truly wonderful that fans put the effort in to make this experience available in the modern era, and to English fans! Honestly plays like a super high-quality LttP romhack. It's fun as heck and the music arrangements are stunning!

33- Afterlove EP This is the kind of game I'll be chewing on for a long time to come. The story itself is beautiful and heart wrenching, but the fact that this game was completed in honor of the dev who started it before passing is... Haunting, in a good way. I'm glad this story got to be told.

32- Nintendo Land After 12.5 years of revisiting this game, I finally rolled credits! Thanks to all my friends, and most importantly @arrispect.bsky.social for helping me finish this weirdly tough, experimental, super fun Nintendo game. It embodies the sheer multiplayer fun Ninty is known for!

31- New Super Mario Bros. 2 I remember how, during this era, this game felt totally excessive and uninteresting among the other NSMB's, but I think it's a pretty well made game. The emphasis on coins is fun! I'd get a kick out of this game on Switch with HD rumble, if that ever happened.

30- Grill-Off With Ultra Hand! It's honestly a shame games like this are lost to time with the closure of WiiWare and Club Nintendo... and this one is great! It honors Nintendo's first foray into toys in a silly mini game with great music. it's a relic of several old ages, all at once.

29- Aura Aura Climber A lovely little DSiWare game that honestly becomes a pretty tough, well-designed movement-based puzzler. I love that we were able to get short, fun, experimental first party games like this bc of DSiWare

28- Metroid: Other M It's honestly fascinating that Team Ninja made a game like this... Gameplay wise, it's pretty interesting and fun, though I think enemies often take too long to kill. But wooow this game earned its infamous reputation for the storytelling 😂 I'm just glad Dread was better!

27- Stories from Sol: The Gun-Dog I discovered this completely by chance, and it's quickly become one of my favorite games played so far this year. The aesthetics, visuals, music and world building are top-drawer. The devs have something really solid here-- looking forward to what they do next!

26- F-Zero X (w/ Expansion Kit) I could never finish this game as a kid-- it's insanely hard!! But coming back as an adult who loves racing games made for an absolute stellar experience. This game ROCKS!! The N64 DD expansion kit is great-- loved making my own car and trying the new tracks.

25- Dynasty Warriors: Origins I've enjoyed every game I've finished by Omega Force, but this time I really felt like they were making something top-class in every category. The gameplay is fun as helllll and they really deliver on the feeling of being an unparalleled warrior. Guan Yu the GOAT!

24- Rift of the NecroDancer Every so often, a game comes out that displays quality and polish in every facet, and you just have to take a moment and say "damn, this is a good game". That's how my entire time with Rift felt! Please make a full game of the Rhythm Heaven style minigames! They're peak

23- WarioWare: Touched! A very fun showcase of DS tech-- I should have played this back when I got one! Man, WarioWare creators really must be high or something half the time. This shit is so wild 😂

22- Super Mario Bros. (Game & Watch) This is a really neat handheld conversion of SMB for its time. It's sort of unforgiving! The animations are super cute and I love how it uses the limited sound capabilities to recreate a few Mario jingles. One of the better Game & Watch games I've played!
