This is where I first truly started to love the book.

I have finished Anna Karenina, obviously it’s extremely good, imagine if some fool like me couldn’t appreciate the majesty and humanity of such an impactful work. And I like the very last chapter about how the wonders of epiphany and revelation are no reason to stop being grumpy.

One of the best.

The soup I made today is very good though, I feel accomplished about that.

If you can get "ink sample" vials cheaply, these usually give you 2-4ml to try. That's a great way of spending some real time with an ink to figure out if you like it before you buy a whole bottle. Sometimes an ink that looks great online is much less nice in your pen, or on your paper!

Yes, it can depend a lot! I tend to force my nibs to be a little wetter (I like this better) so mine doesn't stretch that far, but still, 20ml is a LOT of ink.

A nice dark blue, or dark grey, or dark brown - something more interesting and rich than just black, but that you can use everyday, is very good. I like Diamine a lot, too.

I have one Pelikan ink, and it flows very nicely. My biggest recommendation: buy a very practical, useful ink. A single small bottle will last years. It's so easy to get enthusiastic and buy inks that are novel but not that useful.

The same nib as my Conklin! They're very nice stubs, not too wide but still have plenty of character, with a nice and smooth feel. @grundislav.games came to the Fountain Pen Hospital in New York with me a few years ago when I picked this one out. I use it all the time!

By the way, is this a Conklin? I think so, from the clip, but tell me more!

Thank you!

And, unfortunately, another pen and bottle of ink. A dangerous path!

A lovely skeleton design pen!

Fewer than 20 pages to go but too tired to take it in tonight. But I agree with Levin - thinking is stupid and makes us miserable, and we should stop.

Good bird.

These are always very nice to do, I save them for after the "real" work has been done, as a little treat.

I listened to SO MUCH Deftones and System of a Down back in the day, man. That's what I remember of the era.

The wonderful thing is that it's never too late!

Thank you so much, it's very nice to hear people enjoyed it! ❤️

I thank you for these words 🥰

Thank you! I think one day I shall do some more. At the moment I’m busy putting together an actual adventure for people to play, though, so that has my priority, of course!

None of us did but I had no choice!!

Levin really is the best.

Thank you Matilda ☺️

Nice! I remember back in the day we had a sound card, but no speakers. My friend had speakers + sound card, but a monochrome monitor. I'd go over to his place and be amazed at my games with actual sound, and he'd come over to mine to be blown away by VGA colour. Fun memories. :)

I'm happy that you picked this expression for him, I was very satisfied with his mouth when I drew this one.

I was thinking exactly this about how to design a good game this morning haha

I have! I put 20+ hours into it. Didn't finish the campaign, though, because I'd already re-played through the campaign in the original game a year or so before it came out, haha!
comment in response to post
Yeah, I remember! I recall trying it in EA and while it was clear that it needed work back then, I could see the potential.

And an older one I've been meaning to go back to is Lethis: Path of Progress. I enjoyed it but never completed it!

I'm also planning to get into Synergy soon. It's a recently released city builder with a wonderful aesthetic and a great setting. I enjoyed the demo a lot.

Great animation!

Good Silk.

(just like making games does haha)

Gets boring pretty quick though :)

Social media just proves that "accomplishing things" doesn't fill the void any better than "wasting time looking at cats and shit" haha

I've never been to the Rocky Mountains, but I remember the first time flying over them, not understanding how big they are, how long and how wide, and when I started to comprehend their true size I was in awe.

I normally do this, but I'm in game making focus mode and I know danger when I see it! Gotta get this design finished up first. :)

Ah well, they're saved by the Bell!

I saw it at 2:30 this morning, the sky moonless and the land lightless, the sky midwinter dark. A radiant cloud arcing from north to south across the sky. It's rarely been more captivating.

I think for the first time ever I wasn't tempted by anything when I searched through my wishlist real quick!
