Militarizing our cities won't solve the so-called immigration issue. The optics of repression will quell the dissent that prevents us from slipping into a white nationalist regime. Remember the Latin American dictatorships of yore with their skin-color coded caste systems. Cheap labor free for alls!

They are using a weaponized regime against the opposition!

They probably didn't believe he's a Senator because he's a POC - they most likely were thinking he's undocumented (racial profiling).

This administration plays fast & loose with words to create a false narrative that we are 'others' or 'enemies' - this makes it easier to categorize us as criminals - in order to revoke our rights and exclude us from all aspects of civil life.
comment in response to post
The narrative the right pushes is to make "enemies" of anyone that's not them - in order to declare these so called "enemies" some legal category of criminal (terrorist, i.e.) - in order to slowly revoke our rights and exclude us from voting and all other aspects of civil life in the US.

DJT needs to bolster his weaknesses/failures with external factors (like the military). He's a pathetic despicable little man.

If the optics game involves changing my vernacular (code switching), appearance and demeanor you can count me out - I'm not going to 'pass' for anything other than who and what I am.

Why do we care about the opinions of the racists that are made uncomfortable by said flags? I'm not changing who I am for anybody.

We have to stand our ground as who we are (proud Americans and immigrants of Hispanic ethnic origins) and make them accept our diversity as it is, because we can be and are a part of this great melting-pot too.
comment in response to post
He sent NG in to antagonize the protesters, to escalate and use the unrest as a premise to crack down further.

The foreign flags are an ethnic pride thing, a 1st amendment thing and an unapologetic Hispanic American thing - the flags will stay. I recognize the optics a ripe for race baiting. DJT will use every triggering boogey-monster buzz word to keep feeding red-meat to the right.
comment in response to post
G-d forbid they see a Mexican flag in the protests because that conjures their racist feelings towards the so-called unpatriotic immigrant. They have the racism problem.

There's nothing wrong with waving any other flag - yet the optics give the other side "bad" talking-points (stirs up their racists thoughts of the unpatriotic immigrant). Yet the irony is they used USA flags to bash the CP on Jan 6th!

It's a work in progress but the day he drops dead and I get to dance & piss on his grave will mark a turn for the best!

When things get REALLY BAD I'm planning to revert to cash and withdraw the little cash I have from the bank. If we did this en masse it would cripple the US economy and send a clear message that we're not playing around (and want the rule of law & checks & balances back).
