They call me the greatest. 'Cause I'm not very good, and they're being sarcastic.

This pretty much describes Rodeo Goat in Dallas, except for the music (although you still can't hear each other regardless). It's a shame because the food there is actually pretty good.

Also, the line I use the most the Rock Island stops running late at night, making Metra impractical for heading into the city for something like say a concert that gets out quite late. Anxiety about if I'll be able to catch that last train out makes me just stay home instead.

Happy my reps and senators voted against the Laken Riley act, but jeeze, what a depressing development.

I'm watching Twin Peaks for the first time. Can I listen to the podcast along with watching the show without getting spoiled on future eps?

Fandango at Home is the new name for Vudu which has been around for years, and at one point (still?) was owned by Wal-Mart, IIRC.

Doesn't go to us at the rank-and-file level on the staff side either. Which does make you wonder where it all goes...

Which reminds me that I still need to get around to watching Get Lamp (which is luckily on the Archive, since physical copies go for $$ on eBay)

This game was great! Played it so much one time that the next day I could hardly walk because I was so sore, lol

I would argue that Windows isn't "foolproof" and in fact regularly breaks in new and interesting ways. That said, Linux is even more out there and wild. So you're not wrong, other than that asking for foolproof is too high a goal.

It's free? Other than that... I got nothing. Oh! And it runs better on old/underpowered hardware (arguably).

And when you have a genuinely unique problem... crickets. They don't know how to fix it either.

It *seems* like flatpak won? But maybe I'm not "online" enough in the Linux trenches to see if there's still a defense of the alternatives.

There are major issues with Linux on the desktop. Good for servers and backend, but a constant project on desktop (depending on use-case/hardware it can be a big or small project). It's something I'm willing to put up with but that's not a minor ask. I don't typically recommend it, lol

I'd heard of that one, but hadn't heard if it was any good. Thanks! I'll check it out

Honestly, I didn't make it past the first season for the same reason. I think what I really wanted was just the early computing history stuff and very little outside of that. I think their goal and mine were somewhat apart, lol.

Have you ever seen this mock-up of Windows 95 Mobile?

Ah, okay. Just trying to figure out if I should start over completely or wait until the new ones catch up. Being bigger is nice... 🤔

I pay for Qobuz in addition to YT Premium because I can't stand YouTube Music. Google Play Music was *so* much better and I'm still annoyed they killed it, lol

Glen's channel is over 15 years old, so he's been in the game a *long* time. He might just be getting tired of the constantly changing treadmill of the YouTube machine
comment in response to

That's wild. I guess it must just be his format. I had actually considered dropping YT Premium based on his comments, since the primary reason I have it is to help creators (I'd just adblock if it was to get away from ads). I'm glad to hear an alternative viewpoint on it!
comment in response to

This is interesting for me to read, because Glen from "GlenAndFriendsCooking" said fairly recently that: "YouTube Premium subscription money doesn't filter down in any appreciable amount to the creator...the amount the creator gets is approaching zero". I guess it's down to differing content/format?

"remained available on tap well into the 90's in some locations" Fox's Pizza Den in Aberdeen, OH allegedly still had it on tap as late as the mid-2000s, although it may have just been Sierra Mist and they didn't bother changing the label on the soda fountain.

Oh no, I actually like the original flavor Zero Sugar, lol. That said, i do need to try the fruit ones. I've heard good things.

Rockstar on the other hand is absolutely vile, at least the 'original' flavor, like stomach turningly bad.

You know, I had a non-Zero Sugar one the other day, and honestly I kinda prefer the Zero Sugar.

For me it's the NEC PC-FX. There's not really any great games for it, but there's just something about it aesthetically that works for me.

I had a 6th gen iPod at the time so I didn't own one, but I always thought the Zune was a fairly handsome device (even in brown).

I know Fagen disowns the songs now, but even the pre-CBAT tracks "Dallas" and "Sail the Waterway" are great (if not up to the standard of their later work).

How can they bill you with no documentation/intake form? I'd think you could tell them to just pound sand, but I know that bureaucracy gonna do what it does.

This was kind-of a late 90's/early 2000's trend, yeah? Is there a name for this kind of architecture? There's a massive nostalgia it creates in me when I see it. Cincinnati Mills Mall had this aesthetic to an extreme degree.
