The theme for IDAHOBIT this year is "The Power of Communities", I've seen people coming together in spite of the rise in discrimination and it gives me hope despite it all. Illustration by Chilean queer artist Sofía Miranda Van den Bosch

Overall, a very informative hour and a bit! Whilst the toolkit and some of the legal aspects were specific to VIC, it's also fairly "easy" to search for the counterparts in your state/territory too as well as sub out some parts in the toolkit that are not applicable.

A great note about actually planning what you don't want at your funeral, who you don't want to be there either, etc. rather than focusing on what you would like (which is also very important).

Jen Walsh now talking about the 'My Palliative Care Toolkit'! They were the LGBTIQA+ Project Officer at Barwon Health Palliative Care.

Justice Q rep, Kavitha Sivasamy, also noted that most community legal centre cannot help you write a will. An important thing to note!

Advance Care Planning Australia has a section on their website with laws in each state and territory.

Really hammering home appointing or organising an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPoA) and writing a will whilst you are in full capacity! Good to note that this legislation changes state/territory to state/territory.
