Sometimes when you look at something, you feel something that you don’t always feel. Something beautiful. Something sad. Something peaceful. Something deeper than the average day-to-day. Something that wakes you up to the world around you in that very moment and makes you truly feel alive.

That would be *fog. No flogging on trail that I’m aware of.

This is Georgia Pass along The Colorado Trail. Lovely view, isn't it? ;-) This kind of dense flog is, apparently, common along that pass, as there was a sign nearby on which someone had written in black marker, "Where the **** is Georgia Pass?!"

I did not. Should I be embarrassed to say that I didn't know such a place existed near there?

I keep coming back to look at this image. So great, in so many ways. Really well done.

These are wonderful. I've got a special place in my heart for snowy woodlands.

Incidentally, the same friend I took up to Wheeler Peak in 2013 later gave me the privilege of taking her wilderness backpacking for the first time, and I cannot tell you what an honor that was for me, still to this day. What a joy to share the beauty and peace of wild places with others.

Addendum: I don't get super excited about a whole lot, but helping others experience the sheer beauty and power of nature in ways they never have before is something that will *always* make me giddy with excitement.
