If Tottenham Hotspur and Spurs are registered brand names (I suspect they are) and if the law is the same as it was when I worked in England, the club has a legal obligation to take steps to protect those names, otherwise it loses ownership and anyone else could use the names, they become generic.

So from Oz/Ange time, here's my pick for Ipswich, with Wednesday in mind, and with an educated guess re availability: Vic; Spence, Danso, VdV, Udogie; Gray/Bentancur, Kulusevski/Bergvall, Maddison; Johnson, Tel, Odobert. You don't mind if I hedge my bets? Score 1-3.

Why don't they do their press conferences by video-conference?

Where does Mikey Moore fit as regards the European list?

Not to mention what Bryan Gil must think about having his Spurs shirt number taken from him!

We're not being told the full story about VdV. Danso is a short-term partial solution. But everyone seems to be forgetting Phillips, Dorrington and Vuksich, plus we need a contract extension for Ben Davies. And I wonder what Manor Solomon thinks of the Tel signing, esp if it becomes permanent.

Does Tel have a left foot? Great that it is a loan with an option to buy. A young Timo Werner?

Porro badly needs a rest, so I'd go with: Kinsky; Spence, Gray, Van de Ven, Davies; Bissouma, Bentancur, Kulusevski; Moore, Richarlison, Son. When VdV comes off (Ange has said probably 60-70 mins), Davies goes to LCB, Spence to LB, Porro to RB.

I wonder what Phillips, Dorrington, Vuksich et al are thinking about all this talk of Spurs needing to sign a centre back. And when are Spurs going to offer Ben Davies a contract extension?

Mickey Moore's recent absence has been described as a virus, an illness. In his post-match interview with the in-house Spursplay Review Show he himself referred to it as an injury. Which is true?

I was wrong when I disagreed with your choice to start Lucas. He bossed that game from start to finish. It was his coming of age. Gray had a full Championship season, and it shows. Bergvall has had to make a huge jump, that's his 1st full game, box to box, great finish, brilliant assist from Dom.

If you're right, I feel sorry for Brandon Austin. He played well in pre-season, and in his debut against Newcastle, but now he's to be dumped again. If Kinsky plays, will Brandon or Fraser be on the bench? I hope you're wrong, Alastair. Also prefer Deki to Lucas central mid, Brennan on R wing.

Averaging 34.5 balls faced across his 4 innings isn't good enough for an opening batsman in test cricket.

I see your star batsman managed to last for 38 balls in his latest innings. And by the way, I've nothing against the "young bloke", it's the excessive and irrational marketing hype I object to. @peterfitz1.bsky.social

You're not a Tony Abbott fan, Wendy?

2:00 am, Sydney, NSW. Well, to be honest, that's when the game starts, but I'll watch it on delay.

No, Jessica, I'm just saying cricket isn't what it used to be.

Hello Jessica. Australia's No. 11 has faced more balls that the No. 1. Is that what you mean by "did what he was asked"? Asked by whom, and how do you know what his Captain's instructions were? A No. 1 should be playing at least 83 overs, not balls.
