What’s going on in America & what to do about it by sociologist Jennifer Walter *Bluesky only lets you post 60s. Full version up everywhere else x

Fabulous information on how to take care of yourself with so much going on in the world. Keeping yourself mentally healthy is a huge part of staying healthy and connected to community during the revolution!

BREAKING: Nonprofits sue over Trump's anti-diversity, anti-trans executive orders, alleging they violate the First Amendment & equal protection guarantees, are void for vagueness, exceed the president's authority, & violate the Administrative Procedure Act. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

🤎 "We also need to address racism within our own community. As a community that understands the power of movement building and how, when we put our minds to it, we can achieve humongous change - that work is long overdue." - Jason Jones www.wearequeeraf.com/black-queer-...

On Wednesday, 2/19/25, at 3pm in the MN Capitol Building, there will be a committee hearing on bill that would ban trans youth full participation in sports. Image from @shirtikvahmn and @megemikoart #protecttranskids #protecttransyouth #protectintersexyouth #protectintersexkids

Remembering Sam Nordquist this morning. All of our love to Sam and his family and community today. Rest in Peace.

Last night, vigils across the state and country happened simultaneously to honor the life of Sam Nordquist. These pictures are from the Minnesota State Capitol building in St Paul, where a crowd gathered along with reporters even though it was -5° out. #StandWithSam #SamNordquist #TransLivesMatter

A beautiful tribute to Sam Nordquist from Face to Face Health & Counseling, where he was a young leader in the community. "Sam was a founding member of Face to Face's Youth Advisory Council that launched our advocacy with youth for advancing their economic and health equity." bit.ly/4b7tHbO

One of the candlelight vigils for Sam Nordquist that his friends are organizing was rescheduled for Friday, 2/21/25 from 6-7pm because of the frigid temperatures tonight, Monday. It will take place at Harriet Island Regional Park in St. Paul, MN. #SamNordquist #StandWithSam #ProtectTransLives

Sam Nordquist is being honored with three candlelight vigils tonight, Monday 2/17. *7pm at the MN State Capitol in St. Paul, MN *6pm at the Wood Library, 134 N Main St in Canadaigua, NY *7pm in Central Park in Red Wing, MN Please join his family and community tonight.

*TW for trans murder* Sam Nordquist was reported missing by his family in Minnesota on Feb 6th. It was discovered he was murdered in New York. We think it is important to hold each other through deep grief, anger and confusion. Remember those we have lost, and we need to ensure Sam is not forgotten.

Phillipe Cunningham made history as the first trans man of color elected to office in the U.S. As a Minneapolis City Council member, he fought for youth outreach, public safety reform, and renter protections. Now, he works with organizations like the Transgender Law Center & Urban Rural Action.

Heartfelt congratulations to the @uniteherelocal17.bsky.social First Avenue workers on winning a stellar union contract for yourselves and future workers. For working people, it’s getting harder to build our lives in Minneapolis. Investments in our workforce is how we thrive together. Solidarity!

TIGERRS was founded by a crew of trans and intersex folks, half of us folks of color. We as a community must acknowledge the US' earliest liberators were trans Black and Brown leaders. TIGERRS works to keep the knowledge of this history alive. We always fly the black trans at our programs!

I hope you, too will find visibility and community - whether past or present in the intersectional icons of queer history 👇 https://www.wearequeeraf.com/how-learning-about-disabled-trans-figures-from-history-made-me-feel-less-alone/

As the forces of hatred are on the march, my promise is this: Our trans neighbors will continue to be safe, protected, and welcome in Minnesota.

Born in 1924, Jim McHarris embraced his identity as a trans man in his early teens. In the 1950s, after a traffic stop exposed his identity, McHarris was forced through the legal system and out of his home. He said, "I ain't done nothing wrong and I ain't breaking no laws." #BlackTransHistory
