I came here to talk about music, art and dogs. As a GP of 35 years, serving a deprived population in the North West of England, I can't help but get involved with discussions about the NHS.

Well, it is charming and exquisitely pretty. Plus, that young man bottom left has a wonderful view!

GP leaders need to work out how to get a seat at the table and make their voice heard.

Try something from this century. Lots of great music out there, especially Jazz.

Actually, I have that 22 recording, just played it and it is truly marvellous.
My world seems to have telescoped since 2020

The 7th is a tricky symphony. If Rattle achieves a similar level with the 9th, it would be phenomenal

Wonderful album. The Everyday People episodes of A History Of Rock In 500 Songs gives a lot detail on Sly & The Family Stone.
Plus, there’s this offering on The Afterword

I listened to this very recording today. Superb.

Hmm.
Drums And Wires is full of banging Pop tunes. 3rd album, released 1979, and first with Dave Gregory, a guitarist, who replaced keyboard player Barry Andrews. No wonder there are more wires (if you don't count those in a piano, though I think Barry favoured electric keys).
Still my favourite.

Give us the tools in general practice and we can reduce the pressure. Frailty teams dip in and out when the problem is long term. Matrons have never reduced overall admissions. Embed them in primary care teams instead. CPNs in practices (not just ARRS) would be better than the current services.

Sorting out A/E involves fixing social care and boosting general practice and community services.
Currently, social care reform has been kicked down the road, the GP partnership model is under attack and community services are being given to hospitals to run (guess their priorities).

Arf! It's not often people go to a gig to see the support act. The latest Eagles tour is another example.

Steely Dan lyrics are hardly overspilling with the milk of human kindness, apart from Any Major Dude Will Tell You. They visit the seedier side of life so you don't have to.

He is a reluctant lead vocalist. Think of him as singing in character. He is an excellent harmoniser, especially with Michael McDonald.

The experts are led by Dr Shoo Lee, whose paper on air embolism was used by the prosecution to help their case. Dr Lee felt he was misrepresented.
Her legal team are doing their job, bearing in mind her previous one failed to field any experts at all.

That would spoil the joke! Schengen consolidated Dublin into EU law, I believe.
comment in response to

Within Schengen dealing with asylum seekers was the responsibility of the country they first arrive in. The UK was less commonly the first entry point than many other countries. As it was, we opted out, but did opt in for other immigration measures in an attempt to have the best of both worlds.

Not a Brexiteer but without the EU Schengen protections, we've been able to increase immigration to record levels. Great for the economy.

I particularly enjoy the fact we can pollute our rivers more.
We have taken back control and put it in the hands of worse shitheads. Our trajectory is now towards an American mini-me.

To be fair, we are prescribing millions, billions, in increasing numbers, yet misery and unhappiness are still rising. 🙁
Just to be clear, I am not advocating stopping everyone, just wishing we weren't starting at this point.

I’d welcome new leadership especially if there is a stronger GP voice at the centre

The treasury thinks GPs are not part of the NHS anyway.

Many community services are being taken over by secondary care. Hospitals employing district nurses, community matrons etc? That will work well.
Imagine what GPs could do with those resources. Give them to practices or federations, if you must.

And GPs are not part of the NHS, according to the Treasury. Therefore, we must be "private".

Gosh! My mum’s music brings eternal joy. Her favourite song is Marvin Gaye’s Grapevine & LP is This Is Soul.
Come to think it, they are mainly sad songs 😥

I’m tempted to say Free As A Bird, Real Love or Now & Then. Let’s go with Rocky Raccoon.
