Iām forwarding this to my relatives in Canada and friends here who are Visa holders. The slightest issue, even from years ago, could get you detained at a (for profit) privately contracted ICE facility. Unbelievable.

This is so insightful. We read āThe Rise of the Creative Classā in my Urban Design courses at University. Those findings were central to why so many cities (who embraced creating a culture of inclusion) went on to increase GDP and economically dominate their regions. āAcceptanceā is good policy.

Thereās something amazing in creating something physical- whether a building or art. It forces you to butt up against the inevitable limitations of reality: cost, time, skill set. As an architect (who does still build things!) I find those constraints to be an asset helping to focus creativity.
