I can't be 100% positive the laundry was in what is now Propeller. It may have been next door, in a building that once existed on the lot that is now 7 Bays. So I leave it a little vague. I *think* the blind pig on Maitland still exists (as a house, not a blind pig), but again, not 100% positive

I only name the building if I can 100% identify that the building still exists — the building that most recently held the Company House bar, for example. Also, the house Gerald & Lilian Freckleton lived in on Maynard St. (near North) still stands, but I didn't want to annoy the existing residents.

This is such another good read. (I feel smugly "in the know" about the title, as we have had these two mugs, in our kitchen for more than 40 years, as one of the Mister's treasures)

Long story short: we're seeing democracy itself dismantled in the province that brought responsible government to Canada.

So much stuff is happening at once, and I have a huge writing project also in the works, so I've decided to wait til tomorrow's Morning File to lay out the depth and breadth of this unprecedented (in NS history) power grab.

It will have the power to ORDER the municipality to do anything at all with transportation — this could include, for example, forcing the city to move forward with the flawed Windsor Street Exchange rebuild, or to remove bike lanes (the minister wouldn't directly answer my questions about those)

Yesterday, I was driving behind a fellow in a motorized chair who had to use the middle of the Bell Road on his way to the Infirmary because everything else was iced up.

I’m on my phone and drinking besides, so can’t get into it now. It’ll be in Morning File tomorrow.
