I should have used Google, I've made mess of his name: György Kurtág.

I saw it in Amsterdam not long after, don't think it'll become part of *my* standard repertoire, although this bit was fun: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCOa...

Like Chris I immediately thought of Verdi. Parsifal premiered when Wagner was nearing 70. I think there is a good chance that Fin de Partie (after Beckett's Endgame) by Gregory Kurtag will enter a (somewhat niche) repertoire, he was 92 when the work premiered at La Scala (2018).

@jowolff.bsky.social Jo, as a friend of the Yaounde crowd, could you perhaps share it with your many followers? Thanks for considering it!

When I took over Nicholas Vrousalis office in Louvain la Neuve, it was also on the wall. Might still be there, left it for my 5 years. Nice to know where it came from/was copied from!

This is, in spring, more or less what my commute looks like. Although the plants wouldn't grow over the cycle-path, flowers and cycle lanes are fine, but so is tidiness of public space!
