Beautiful light and composition! I spent a sunset at this spot in December 2023 and loved it.

Thank you. I really appreciate your kind words. It’s just tough when I spend so much time trying to improve my work and yet the average tourist phone snap gets more engagement than my photos. Tells me I’m doing something wrong.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support, especially because I tend to be a social media failure for some reason.

Thank you so much! I feel like you have to push those whites almost to the point of clipping to really get some good color differentiation in the snow.

Thank you! I appreciate your support. I can’t seem to find the right time to post recently.

It’s definitely one of my favorite photo locations.

Thank you! You’re right - what you’re able to see from spots like this is so incredible that the small format of a social media post never could convey it.

I’m pretty sure she did, but my focus was more on hoping they would get out of the way since they arrived for the stunt only a few minutes before peak sunset light.

Luckily, the only thing I had to edit out of this photo is some bird poop on the rocks in the foreground - haha.

I share your frustration. It’s tough when visitors have different objectives. I find myself getting annoyed when people are crawling all over the place to get photos of themselves instead of just appreciating the natural beauty but try to remind myself they have as much right to be there as I do.

It’s such a crazy beautiful spot that it’s easy to see why it’s so crowded. I need to work on my patience a bit more.

Yeah, it can be annoying but I try to appreciate that it forces me to be more concise. I sometimes forget that there’s very little attention span left to read my style of writing. 😂

Thank you so much! I was going to write what I normally do when I shoot aspens, but I ran out of characters in the middle of it and deleted the whole thing.

When I first shared it, my best performing image here got 5 likes and died. I deleted and reposted it the next day doing nothing different, and it got ~4k likes.
Sorry for all of the replies. It’s difficult to get a complete thought out with so few characters available.

I had hoped that Bluesky would be more genuine than Meta for that but clearly here there is still some element of needing several immediate likes to prevent a post from dying.

Thank you for the encouragement. It’s difficult not to, though. I would love to have a way to tell which photos people like more so I can focus my sales efforts on those.

Any marriage proposals or picnics of people screaming in Spanish in there?

Thank you so much! I’ve found that weekends get lots less engagement, presumably because people are out doing things. I assumed today would be especially bad since it’s Valentine’s Day. I have wild variation of engagement (20 - 1,000+) that can’t be explained solely by the quality of the photos.

One thing that’s great about it is that it’s not obvious how to get down into the canyon so that prevents influencers from crawling all over it taking selfies. I’ve been there in some nice cloudy conditions, but I’m still waiting for the perfect pink sunset.

Schönes Foto! This is the scene that first made me want to visit the highlands.
